Farmers in localities in the province are actively linking production and consumption of agricultural products with enterprises and cooperatives to ensure stable output for products and increase income.

In late March 2024, the potato fields serving processing under the form of production - consumption linkage of the communes of Hoang Thang, Hoang Luu, Hoang Thanh, Hoang Tien, Hoang Ngoc, Hoang Dong... of Hoang Hoa district were always bustling. People were busy harvesting potatoes to import to cooperatives and enterprises purchasing under contracts. Instead of harvesting manually as before, farmers have used machines to harvest, not scratching the potatoes, not leaving any residue, replacing human labor and reducing labor.
Currently in the midst of harvesting, farmer Le Xuan Lam, village 3, Hoang Ngoc commune, said: "This crop, my family is cooperating with An Viet International Agriculture Joint Stock Company to grow nearly 1 hectare of potatoes. Thanks to technical compliance, the potatoes grow and develop well, yielding from 1.2 to 1.5 tons/sao. With the company's committed purchase price of 7,000 VND/kg, after deducting costs, the profit is from 6 to 8 million VND/sao, equivalent to 120 to 160 million VND/ha. Growing potatoes today is not as hard as before, from making beds to harvesting, all use machines, and the products do not have to be sold far away, businesses buy them right in the field."
In the 2023-2024 winter crop, Hoang Thanh Agricultural Service Cooperative (Hoang Hoa) has leased 16 hectares of land from local households to cooperate in the production and consumption of FL 2215 potatoes with Viettrans Logistics Joint Stock Company. During the production process, the cooperative received technical transfer from the company on planting, care and pest control, and at the same time purchased all products. Mr. Luong Quoc Dat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoang Thanh Agricultural Service Cooperative, said: After 100 days of planting, up to now, the potato area has been harvested, with an average yield of 32 tons/ha. With the company's purchase price at the field of 8,000 VND/kg, after deducting costs, each hectare of potatoes brings a profit of 120 million VND.
Currently, in the province, there are 10 enterprises investing in potato production linkage with an area of over 1,000 hectares, concentrated in the districts of Nga Son, Hau Loc, Hoang Hoa, Quang Xuong, Tho Xuan, Yen Dinh... Total potato output reaches about 25,000 tons/year. Mr. Dao Ngoc Manh, Director of Viettrans Logistics Joint Stock Company, said: "In the process of production linkage, investment companies advance farmers seeds, fertilizer materials, transfer planting and care techniques, and at the same time purchase products for farmers through cooperatives to serve processing. Potatoes are suitable for Thanh Hoa's soil. In the coming time, we will continue to expand the linkage, possibly up to hundreds of hectares per year".

For many years now, farmers in Yen Phong, Yen Lam, Yen Thai, Yen Ninh, Dinh Hung, Dinh Hoa communes, Quy Loc town... of Yen Dinh district have been collaborating with Tinh Cam Trading and Service Company Limited to specialize in producing more than 100 hectares of chili for export. According to households, although growing chili is more difficult and requires more work than other traditional crops, chili plants have a longer harvest time, and can be harvested many times in one crop. The fields of chili with many fruits can yield up to a quintal of chili each crop. The company buys chili at the field at a stable price, bringing in 4-5 times more income than other crops on the same area. This chili crop, the initial selling price was 23,000 VND/kg, then gradually increased, at one point the company bought it for 30,000 VND/kg. Currently, chili plants are in the final stage of the season, farmers in the communes are focusing on harvesting to prepare for other crops in the next crop.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Yen Dinh district, local people regularly cooperate and link with more than 10 businesses to consume products, with nearly 3,460 hectares of crops. Of which, the spring crop reaches 1,426.6 hectares; the summer-autumn crop reaches 1,888.5 hectares; the winter crop reaches 1,044.8 hectares with many high-value crops, such as: purebred rice, F1 hybrid rice, commercial rice, organic rice, chili, potatoes, squash, green squash, sweet corn, thick corn, F1 corn...
Currently, the province has formed 1,808 linkage chains, with 65,000 farming households, 56 cooperatives, 749 cooperatives, 800 enterprises and 26 other organizations participating in the linkage chain of production and consumption of agricultural products. According to Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Viet Chon: Farmers in localities in the province have a lot of production experience along with large areas of agricultural land. This is also a condition to attract enterprises inside and outside the province to invest in developing production linkages associated with processing and consumption. The agricultural sector encourages and creates conditions for organizations and individuals to accumulate land to create concentrated growing areas linked according to the value chain. Along with that, the agricultural sector effectively implements the production support mechanisms and policies of the Central and the province that are still in effect. At the same time, mobilize investment resources, complete the transportation system, and infrastructure connecting to concentrated production areas to create favorable conditions for people to consume goods.
