On the morning of October 24, Seoul Guarantee Insurance Company (SGI) in collaboration with GCS Korea in Vietnam held a handover ceremony of a computer room to Cao Vien Secondary School, Thanh Oai District, Hanoi. This activity is part of the “SGI Dream Class” support project, building computer classrooms in disadvantaged schools in Vietnam.

Cao Vien Secondary School is a school with many difficulties. Although Thanh Oai district and the Department of Education have paid attention to improving it, the facilities are still lacking. The school currently does not have a computer room. This school year, the school has 41 classes with 1,712 students. In the subject of Computer Science, students are currently only taught theory and have not yet practiced on computers.

Therefore, with the desire to improve the learning environment for students, the SGI Dream Class Project has built a standard computer room, including 35 new modern computers, tables and chairs, audio-visual equipment, TV screens, printers, internet and other equipment donated to the school, contributing to making the school's facilities more spacious and complete.

Teacher Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Principal of the school, affirmed that the computer room not only helps students have better learning opportunities, but is also a meaningful gift for educational activities, fostering ideology, helping students appreciate sharing and strong international friendship.

On behalf of the school, Principal Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong pledged to manage, direct and organize the use of donated equipment for the right purposes in order to achieve many results in educational activities.

Excited to be able to work on the new modern computer, Dao Hai Yen (class 9A7, Cao Vien Secondary School) shared: "With this computer room, we will study IT better and have access to more useful knowledge."

Mr. Lee Myung Soon, General Director of Seoul Guarantee Insurance Company of Korea (the project sponsor), shared: “Our company was established in 1969, specializing in providing guarantee insurance and credit insurance services. SGI has expanded its network globally such as: Beijing, Dubai, New York, Jakarta and we have added an SGI branch in Hanoi to meet the needs of the financial and guarantee insurance market in Vietnam. Along with that, we also want to contribute our small part, joining hands to improve the educational training environment at Cao Vien Secondary School in particular and Vietnam in general”.

Since 2016, SGI has continuously implemented the “SGI Dream Class” project to sponsor computers for future generations. In Hanoi, the project has equipped computer rooms for Phu Xuyen Primary School, Phu Xuyen District; Yen Binh Secondary School, Thach That District; Lien Chau Secondary School, Thanh Oai District; Xuan Son Secondary School, Son Tay Town and Tri Trung Secondary School, Phu Xuyen District...

Through the computer room donated to Cao Vien Secondary School this time, SGI hopes that children will be able to study in a better environment so that they can continue to nurture their dreams.

Mr. Lee Myung Soon emphasized that SGI will continue to carry out diverse social contribution activities and demonstrate its role as a companion to the development of Vietnam's economy.
