The Harman Kardon Go + Play 3 has largely unchanged design and dimensions from its predecessor, although the top has been tweaked slightly to now have a mirror-like surface compared to the slightly inward-sloping design of the previous Go + Play. The aluminum handles of the Go + Play 3 now run down the sides of the speaker. Importantly, the semicircular shape that is characteristic of the Go + Play series, the new generation has a refined and elevated body, fully covered in luxurious textiles and high-quality materials.

Weighing in at around 4.7kg, the speaker components include two 70mm mid-range speakers, two 20mm tweeters, a 130mm floor-firing subwoofer and a passive radiator. With up to 8 hours of battery life, the speaker is portable, whether in the living room, home office or garden.
Not stopping there, the speaker is made with recycled materials without compromising quality, the Go + Play 3 uses 100% recycled polyester fiber for the outer fabric, 90% recycled aluminum for the handle, and 85% post-consumer recycled plastic used in the inner frame.
Basic functions
The Harman Kardon Go + Play 3 is still equipped with wireless connectivity via Bluetooth. Thanks to two built-in microphones, the Go + Play 3 can also be used during calls, but the sound quality is only acceptable.
The speaker provides a connection port on the back of the device.
The controls on the top of the Go + Play 3 are adequate, including power, Bluetooth search (can pair two devices), volume, while the multi-function button is for answering and ending calls or skipping tracks (two taps for forward, three taps for backward). It's a dated functional design, but it's simple and sensible.
What’s missing, however, is the ability to manually adjust the sound for the best possible audio experience. Instead, the system automatically adapts to the environment and optimizes the sound in real time.
Audio playback capabilities
The limitations of sound tuning can be overcome when the quality of the Go + Play 3 is basically great. Experience shows that the speaker can optimize bass reproduction - a challenge in the portable Bluetooth speaker market. With the dynamics and clarity thanks to the high-output 3-way stereo driver and down-firing subwoofer, the Go + Play 3 is enough to breathe life into any music.

The Go + Play 3 continues to shine across the entire audio spectrum. If that’s not enough, users can pair two Go + Play 3 units together for a true stereo experience. The speaker lacks an IP rating, so it’s unclear whether it’s protected against moisture, which makes using the Go + Play 3 on an outdoor adventure a bit of a gamble.
