First graders in Ho Chi Minh City on the first day of school |
Every year, the enrollment for kindergarten, grade 1, and grade 6 is completed by Ho Chi Minh City in August. Thus, this year's enrollment progress is pushed 2 months earlier than every year.
According to the Department of Education and Training, enrollment is earlier than every year to suit the context of the country's restructuring and merging of provinces and cities. In particular, the district-level tasks will be completed according to the conclusions of the Politburo and the Secretariat on implementing research and proposing to continue restructuring the apparatus of the political system.
After the primary school enrollment steering committee and districts have finished their roles, the Department of Education and Training will issue a document directing the establishment of a grassroots enrollment steering committee to continue implementing enrollment.
In the 2025-2026 school year, enrollment for the first grade classes in Ho Chi Minh City will be conducted online at https://tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn/ through the student's identification code and "Actual residence" according to VNeID. Information used in the first grade enrollment is guaranteed to be 100% extracted from the city's education database system.
The Department of Education and Training directed the People's Committee of Thu Duc City and districts to base on the actual school situation in the locality to build flexible enrollment areas, not following the administrative boundaries of wards, to create conditions for students to study near their current place of residence, and ensure that schools recruit enough students according to the education development plan.
At the same time, combine the use of the city's shared digital map system to calculate the travel distance of students, not allocating students according to ward administrative boundaries, to create conditions for students to study near their current residence and in accordance with the actual local situation.
For schools located on the border between localities, the Department of Education and Training recommends that the Steering Committee for Primary School Admissions of Thu Duc City, districts and towns need to develop appropriate admission plans, creating favorable conditions for students to study near their place of residence.
