Ho Chi Minh City paid new pensions to 203,695 people in one day

Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance said that on August 14, the Social Insurance agency paid pensions and social insurance benefits to 203,695 people out of a total of 251,615 people receiving social insurance benefits that the agency is responsible for managing, reaching a rate of 81%.

Of these, 100% of those who registered to receive benefits via ATM accounts were paid by the Social Insurance Agency. With 73,104 people registering to receive salaries in cash, the Social Insurance Agency paid to 25,586 people.

According to the Social Insurance, the payment of pensions, social insurance benefits, and monthly benefits for the August 2023 payment period will begin on August 14, 2023. Specifically, pensions and monthly social insurance benefits must be paid to beneficiaries via accounts on August 14, 2023; cash payments will be made from August 14, 2023 to August 25, 2023.

To prepare for timely payment of pensions, social insurance benefits, and monthly benefits, on August 9, Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance made a list of beneficiaries with new benefits according to regulations and transferred the list to the City Post Office. The City Post Office also transferred the list and money to the Bank on August 11, 2023 to ensure that the money would be in the beneficiaries' accounts on the morning of August 14, 2023.

According to Decree 42/2023/ND-CP on adjusting pensions, social insurance benefits and monthly allowances issued by the Government, pensioners and monthly social insurance benefits will have their pensions adjusted to increase from July 1, 2023.
However, in the pension payment period of July 2023, pensioners and social insurance beneficiaries have not yet received the new pension level. The reason is that Decree 42 on adjusting pensions and social insurance benefits will not take effect until August 14, 2023.
Accordingly, beneficiaries of the policy will receive the pension and social insurance benefits of August 2023 along with the additional difference of July 2023. The payment of pension and social insurance benefits of August 2023 will be implemented from August 14, 2023 to match the effective date of Decree 42.
At the same time, ensure that pensioners and social insurance beneficiaries enjoy pension increase policies immediately after Decree 42 takes effect.
