Mr. Rinkēvičs, who was visiting Ukraine, had to evacuate to a shelter on the night of November 24-25, when Russia carried out a large-scale drone attack on Kiev.
The photo has the caption: "November 25, 5:10 a.m., Kiev". The President of Latvia made a surprise visit to Ukraine on November 24.
He visited several facilities in Chernihiv that were rebuilt with support from Latvia, met with President Volodymyr Zelensky and discussed bilateral relations as well as support from the EU and NATO.
At a joint press conference with Mr. Zelensky, Mr. Rinkēvičs expressed confidence that the European Union, despite the objections of some member states, will eventually make decisions that benefit Ukraine.
Earlier, Mr. Rinkēvičs said that EU and NATO countries need to increase their defense industrial capacity to produce the necessary amount of weapons for themselves and for Ukraine.
Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, said that on the night of November 24-25, Russia launched 75 Shahed UAVs into Ukraine, the main target of which was the capital Kiev. The Ukrainian Air Force announced that 74/75 UAVs were shot down.
Ukraine said a Russian Kh-59 guided missile was also shot down in Dnipropetrovsk province.
The attack is seen as a sign that Russia may be planning a large-scale attack on Ukrainian infrastructure, as it did last year, in an effort to put pressure on the Kiev government.
