Summary of Science and Technology Awards for young lecturers and students

On November 9, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technical Creativity - VIFOTEC jointly organized the Closing Ceremony and presented science and technology awards to young lecturers and students in higher education institutions in 2024.

The 2024 Science and Technology Award for Young Lecturers and Students in Higher Education Institutions is organized to honor outstanding achievements in scientific research, encourage young lecturers and students to participate in scientific research, contribute to improving the quality of training and fostering young scientific talents in higher education institutions.

Through the award, scientific research activities of lecturers and students across the country are promoted, aiming to search for and discover new topics that can be applied in practice.

In 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training assigned Ho Chi Minh City University of Education to host and receive applications for the Science and Technology Award for students, and Ho Chi Minh City Open University to receive applications for the Science and Technology Award for young lecturers.

Organizing Committee awards science and technology prizes to young lecturers

The total number of topics participating in the 2024 award that made it to the preliminary round includes 47 research projects; nearly 100 scientific publications and transfer products of young lecturers from 29 universities in Vietnam; 536 topics of students at 95 universities across the country.

The topics participating in the award are divided into 6 fields, including: Natural sciences, engineering and technology, medical sciences, agricultural sciences, and social sciences and humanities.

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc congratulated the young lecturers and students who won the Science and Technology Awards. This year, the quantity and quality of research projects have been significantly improved, many projects have practical applications in life, some research projects in emerging fields have been published in domestic and international journals such as artificial intelligence (AI), data science, etc.

The organizing committee awarded prizes to students with excellent scientific and technological research topics.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc said that the Ministry of Education and Training has made recommendations and proposals for investment in scientific and technological research activities, striving to achieve the advanced level of the Asian region by 2030 and the advanced level of the world by 2045. In particular, many scientific studies are encouraged to be published in international journals, contributing to the treasure trove of human knowledge.

For the scientific works of the young lecturers, the Organizing Committee selected and awarded 7 First prizes, 10 Second prizes, 10 Third prizes, and 18 Encouragement prizes. Of the 106 scientific topics of students in the final round, the Organizing Committee awarded 18 First prizes and 85 Second prizes.
