(MPI) - On the afternoon of February 8, 2025, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong received the Minister of Investment of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mohamed Alsuwaidi to promote bilateral investment cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking at the reception, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong highly appreciated Minister Mohamed Alsuwaidi's visit to Vietnam and working session at the Ministry of Planning and Investment, saying that this is an opportunity for large corporations and enterprises of the UAE to survey the market and explore investment opportunities in Vietnam. Vietnam always attaches importance to further strengthening cooperation with the UAE, Vietnam's only comprehensive partner in the Middle East, especially in investment cooperation.

UAE Minister of Investment Mohamed Alsuwaidi emphasized that the UAE attaches great importance to the official visit to the UAE by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in October 2024. The important goal of his working trip to Vietnam this time is to concretize cooperation opportunities and learn more about Vietnam's investment environment and priority areas in the coming time.

Minister Mohamed Alsuwaidi said that the UAE is particularly interested in the fields of high technology (AI), energy cooperation (oil and gas, renewable energy) and infrastructure investment (highways, seaports)...; The signed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement will open a new era, bringing the relationship between the two countries more and more substantive and effective, especially investment cooperation in fields that are in line with the orientations and strategies of both sides.

The UAE Ministry of Investment is committed to closely coordinating with Vietnamese agencies and businesses to promote investment as well as increase two-way trade turnover, connecting and deepening the Vietnam - UAE cooperative relationship, Minister Mohamed Alsuwaidi emphasized.

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong agreed with the fields shared by Minister Mohamed Alsuwaidi and said that these are also priority fields of Vietnam, especially in science - technology and new technologies such as AI and semiconductors.

Specifically, the Vietnamese Politburo has issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW to create a breakthrough in the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. Accordingly, Vietnam will gradually improve institutions and policy mechanisms to encourage more investors to explore investment opportunities in this field. At the same time, infrastructure development is also one of Vietnam's three strategic breakthroughs for socio-economic development in the coming period. Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong expressed his hope that UAE investors and investment funds will continue to coordinate to make specific proposals in the coming time.

Sharing about Vietnam's priorities in building international and regional financial centers, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong suggested that the UAE, with its capacity to operate a leading financial center in the region, share experiences and connect investors to participate more deeply in Vietnam's financial center projects. The Ministry of Planning and Investment is ready to implement and concretize cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Investment and commits to accompany and create favorable conditions for foreign investors, including UAE investors, to expand and develop investment and business activities, ensuring compliance with legal regulations./.
