Mr. Mai Xuan Thanh - a customs leader - has just been assigned as Acting Director General of the General Department of Taxation.
This decision has just been signed by Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc and will take effect from February 15. The official decision-giving ceremony is expected to take place this afternoon.
Previously, Director General of Taxation Cao Anh Tuan was appointed Deputy Minister of Finance from the end of October 2022 and temporarily in charge of the General Department of Taxation until the agency has a new leader. Currently, the tax sector has 4 other deputy directors general: Mr. Phi Van Tuan, Mr. Dang Ngoc Minh, Mr. Vu Chi Hung and Vu Xuan Bach.
New Acting Director General of the General Department of Taxation Mai Xuan Thanh has more than 30 years of experience in the customs industry and has been Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs since May 2018.
Mr. Thanh was born in 1968 in Nam Dinh. He graduated from the University of Finance and Accounting (long-term concentrated program) majoring in industrial finance; Advanced political theory; State management of the senior specialist program; English certificate C, Information Technology B.
Mr. Thanh has worked at the General Department of Customs since 1994, starting as a specialist at the Import-Export Tax Inspection Department. After that, he was successively assigned as Deputy Head of the Tax Price Department of the Import-Export Tax Inspection Department, Deputy Director of the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department, Director of the Kien Giang Provincial Customs Department, Director of the Inspection - Examination Department.../.
