"I studied and felt that the numbers in the Prime Minister's report were very good, emotional and exciting, and wondered what I had to do in this responsibility," General Secretary To Lam said, giving an example of the Government's determination in completing its goals.
Strive to achieve double-digit growth target from now on
On December 1, the Politburo and the Secretariat held a national conference to disseminate and summarize the implementation of Resolution 18; report on the socio-economic situation in the first 11 months of 2024, solutions to accelerate socio-economic development in 2025 and solutions to remove institutional bottlenecks and bottlenecks for development.
Speaking at the conference, General Secretary To Lam said that since the 10th Central Conference (September 20) until now, the entire political system has had strong movements, operating with a new spirit and new speed to create new driving forces and new efficiency for socio-economic development and improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

During the above period, the Politburo and the Secretariat worked very urgently, holding more than 10 meetings to give opinions on nearly 100 major issues within their authority, including fundamentally removing backlogs and obstacles and resolving many newly arising issues.
So far, the Politburo's working program and basic arising issues have been basically resolved.
Emphasizing the spirit of working very urgently, the General Secretary said that many meetings took place until 12 noon and 6 pm to promptly resolve the contents.
According to the General Secretary, the National Assembly - Government - Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front have coordinated very drastically and smoothly to remove bottlenecks, bottlenecks, and barriers that cause difficulties for socio-economic development and for people's lives and activities...
The above actions have initially created new vitality for the task of protecting, building and developing the country, striving to complete the targets and plans of 2024 and 2025; creating leverage to break through and complete all the goals set out in the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party.
"The big question now is do we have enough power and strength; do we have enough will and determination to enter a new era, an era of national development and prosperity? Our answer is: Enough.
Is now the time, the opportunity; the urgency, the objective necessity for a revolution in streamlining the political system's organizational apparatus so that the apparatus can operate effectively and efficiently? The answer is: There can be no more delay," said the General Secretary.
Also in his speech, General Secretary To Lam emphasized three more issues in the spirit of "speaking frankly and honestly".
In particular, regarding socio-economic issues, to achieve the socio-economic development goals set forth in the Resolution of the 13th National Congress, the General Secretary emphasized the need to renew thinking, "unleash", be decisive, make breakthroughs, and surpass oneself.
According to the General Secretary, to reach the goal of high average income for people by 2030 and high income by 2045, Vietnam's economic growth rate must reach double digits continuously in the following years.
"This is a very difficult problem that we have to solve. Only a simplified solution can give us a timely answer," he said, adding that the Party Central Committee, the Government, and the National Assembly are focusing on solving bottlenecks and creating fundamental factors for the country to "take off", especially issues related to infrastructure such as the transportation system, energy infrastructure, human resources, facilities, institutional reform, administrative procedures, etc.
Synchronous infrastructure planning to connect with other modes of transport
Sharing here, the General Secretary expressed his great emotion and excitement with the Prime Minister's speech and this comment was repeated many times by Party leaders when talking about the Government's determination to complete socio-economic development goals.
"I studied and felt that the numbers mentioned in the Prime Minister's report were very good, emotional and exciting, and wondered what I had to do in this responsibility," the General Secretary said, giving examples of the import-export turnover reaching 800 billion USD; tax and loan interest rate reductions to support business development, and especially the Government's determination to complete key goals and projects, not allowing them to linger.
For example, according to the report, the Government will strive to inaugurate Long Thanh International Airport in 2025 two years ahead of schedule to make achievements to welcome the 14th Party Congress.
The General Secretary assessed that this was a practical action, saving investment capital, putting infrastructure into use early, and not letting investment money stay in the project for those two years.

At the same time, Party leaders require synchronous infrastructure planning to connect with other modes of transport, and development projects around the airport to invite "eagles to nest", thereby developing the economy, turning the airport into a "crossroads, five-way intersection, seven-way intersection of the world".
At the same time, the General Secretary suggested that such a proactive, creative, determined and drastic spirit should be promoted in the North-South high-speed railway investment project.
"Because the figure of 67.43 billion USD (the total preliminary investment of the project) is very large and leaving it there would be a waste. Each year it drags on, that year it will be a waste," according to the General Secretary.
Assuming that it is possible to carry out the project in stages, he pointed out: "If the Hanoi - Vinh high-speed railway section is completed early and people only need 1.5 hours to travel, it will be great. The plan to carry out the entire project is 10 years, but we will try to speed it up and not let it drag on because people are really looking forward to it."
However, according to the General Secretary, this is only the initial result and there are still many challenges ahead.
"A strong enough medicine" to cure the disease of negative officials, harassment, and blaming the system
Referring to innovation and institutional breakthroughs to achieve goals, the Party leader requested that it be clearly recognized that this is not only the task of law-making agencies, but also the common responsibility of the entire political system and of each cadre and Party member participating in law-making and enforcement.
"There must be a "strong enough medicine" to cure the disease of officials working administratively, mechanically; being negative, harassing, harassing people, harassing businesses, only doing things for personal gain, deliberately slowing down work, asking for opinions in circles, blaming the system...", the General Secretary added and said that the policies and guidelines for socio-economic development are quite adequate; now is the time to act.
On the basis of the general policies of the Party, State and Central Government, localities must consider and think on their own land, promoting the spirit of initiative and creativity.
According to the General Secretary, there must be a "strong enough medicine" to cure the disease of officials working in an administrative, mechanical manner; being negative, harassing, and abusing people and businesses.
He noted that more than ever, cadres and party members must uphold their sense of responsibility, set an example in performing their duties in the spirit of putting the common interest above all else, boldly innovate, create, make breakthroughs, and courageously sacrifice for the country's development.
In addition to the efforts of the Party, Government and State, it is necessary to have the response and participation of the people. It is necessary to liberate labor and production capacity, mobilize material and spiritual resources among the people and the people must feel that they are the ones enjoying those achievements, then everyone will join hands and work together to implement them.
