(NSHN) - On the afternoon of June 20, a delegation from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dong Thap province visited and learned about the production, trading, processing and consumption of products made from silk and silk from lotus stems at My Duc Mulberry and Silk Company Limited. This is a unique production model of My Duc district and Hanoi city.
Artisan Phan Thi Thuan (from Ha village, Phung Xa commune, My Duc district, Hanoi) is the Director of My Duc Mulberry Silk Company Limited. After many efforts, Artisan Phan Thi Thuan has found a way to control silkworms to weave themselves into scarves, blankets..., from which she takes silk from lotus stems to weave scarves, paintings... These products are available in many ASEAN and European countries.
Currently, My Duc Mulberry Silk Company Limited is creating jobs for many rural workers with an income of 4.5 million VND/month.
During the visit, leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hanoi and Dong Thap Province highly appreciated the efforts of artisan Phan Thi Thuan; at the same time, affirmed that this production model can be developed into a craft village associated with tourism.
