On the afternoon of September 24, the Party Executive Committee of District 8 (HCMC), term 2020-2025, held the 17th Conference (expanded) to evaluate the results of implementing the tasks of Party building, government building, and mass mobilization work in the first 9 months of 2024 and set out directions and tasks for the last 3 months of the year.
Attending the conference were comrades: Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Tran Thanh Tung, Secretary of the District 8 Party Committee; Do Huu Tri, Standing Deputy Secretary of the District 8 Party Committee.
Before the conference, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue presented the decision of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee appointing Mr. Vuong Chi Hung, District Party Committee member, Director of the Investment Project Management Board of District 8, to join the Executive Committee of the District 8 Party Committee, term 2020-2025.
In the first 9 months of 2024, District 8 estimated state budget revenue of more than 1,430/1,488 billion VND, reaching 96.15% of the year's estimate; held an inauguration ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), including the following projects: Medical Center Headquarters, access road to the Medical Center and the road connecting Chanh Hung - Rach Ong Sang...
Regarding the disbursement of public investment capital in 2024, up to now, projects with capital invested by the district have achieved a disbursement rate of 58.5%; projects with capital invested by the city have achieved a disbursement rate of 100% in 2023, and up to now, compensation payments to households have reached a rate of 87.46%.
Speaking at the conference, comrade Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the District 8 Party Committee in the first 9 months of the year.
He expects that from now until the end of the year, the disbursement of public investment capital will reach over 90%, exceeding the district's target.
Comrade Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue also suggested that, in addition to social housing programs and projects, in the accommodation areas of workers and low-income laborers, District 8 can support landlords and accommodation service providers to convert these locations into safer and more convenient places for workers.
The landlords are making more efforts to not only provide short-term rentals but also create a shift in tourism, contribute to improving the living environment and thoroughly correct social evils in the area.
In the coming time, comrade Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue requested that the Propaganda Department of District 8 Party Committee be more active in reporting the results of political activities in the Party Committee. In particular, it is necessary to innovate further so that political activities on the Regulations on revolutionary ethical standards for cadres and party members in the new period; the works of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on national cultural identity, diplomatic policies... are deeply absorbed by party members and people in the area.
