The Vietnam U.17 team gathered on September 16 and is currently training in Hanoi. According to the plan, Vietnam U.17 will train domestically until September 29. After that, coach Cristiano Roland's team will go to Japan for training and competition from September 30 to October 9. In the list of players called up to the Vietnam U.17 team this time, the coaching staff gave the opportunity to the striker currently playing for HAGL's first team to compete in the 2024 - 2025 season, Tran Gia Bao. This is the youngest striker in the 2024 - 2025 V-League. This striker, born in 2008, has just become a "phenomenon" after the opening round of the national championship.

In the first round of V-League 2024 - 2025 on September 15, HAGL had a resounding victory over Quang Nam Club with a score of 4-0. Tran Gia Bao was sent off the bench and played energetically and made his mark with a goal that sealed the victory for HAGL in the 90+2 minute, helping the mountain town team rise to the top of the rankings.

It is known that the first round of V-League ends on September 15, but Tran Gia Bao will not join the Vietnam U.17 team (from September 16). Accordingly, the leadership of HAGL asked the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) for permission for this talent born in 2008 to stay and play for the mountain town team in the first rounds of V-League.

Coach Le Quang Trai said: "Currently, the club's policy is to create conditions for young players, especially Tran Gia Bao, to gain experience and compete the most in phase 1 of the V-League. Gia Bao has a good training attitude and meets the professional requirements of the coaching staff."

"The training period for the Vietnam U.17 team is quite long. Meanwhile, the quality of the matches at the youth level cannot be as good as in the V-League. If we let the players train early with the U-team and then miss important matches with great pressure like in the V-League, it will be a pity. Highly competitive and high-pressure environments like the V-League are very good for the development of young players," Mr. Trai added.

Coach Le Quang Trai (3rd from right) affirmed that HAGL always creates conditions for young players to develop.

The head coach of the mountain town football team affirmed: "At HAGL, there is no concept of age, but we will care about the attitude of the players in training, whether they meet the professional requirements or not. 16 years old or 26 years old is not important. What is important is when entering the field, can the players show their confidence and ability or not. LPBank HAGL Football Academy and Chairman Doan Nguyen Duc have a vision of developing youth football, aiming to create quality players for Vietnamese football, so they always require the coaching staff to create conditions for potential players to have a good development environment. As you can see, Tran Gia Bao showed his confidence in about 20 minutes on the field in round 1".

Tran Gia Bao will join the U.17 Vietnam team at the earliest after round 3 of V-League 2024 - 2025. In round 3 on September 28, HAGL will have an important match when hosting Nam Dinh Club at home ground Pleiku. Thus, the 16-year-old striker will be able to join his teammates at U.17 Vietnam to go to Japan for training and competition.
