TPO – The Prime Minister assigned the People's Committee of Phu Tho province to urgently coordinate with the Ministry of Transport and relevant agencies to immediately conduct research, survey, and complete procedures to prepare for investment in the project to build the new Phong Chau bridge, ensuring solidity and safety in all flood conditions.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed Official Dispatch No. 96/CD-TTg dated September 16 of the Prime Minister on urgently studying and investing in the construction of a new Phong Chau bridge on National Highway 32C connecting Tam Nong district and Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province.

On September 9, the rising water level on the Red River caused the collapse of Phong Chau bridge on National Highway 32C connecting Tam Nong district and Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province, causing great damage to people and property and disrupting traffic on National Highway 32C.
The Prime Minister has issued an official dispatch directing the overcoming of the consequences of the bridge collapse and ensuring safe traffic during the flood season, especially in the Northwestern provinces.
To quickly resolve the traffic disruption and facilitate traffic on National Highway 32C and the areas of Tam Nong and Lam Thao districts, Phu Tho province, the Prime Minister assigned the People's Committee of Phu Tho province to be the presiding agency, urgently coordinate with the Ministry of Transport and relevant agencies to immediately conduct research, survey, and complete investment preparation procedures for the project to build a new Phong Chau bridge on National Highway 32C, ensuring solidity and safety in all rain and flood conditions; report to competent authorities before October 1, 2024.
The Prime Minister assigned the Ministers of Transport, Agriculture and Rural Development, Planning and Investment, and Finance to direct, closely coordinate, and proactively guide Phu Tho province to complete the investment preparation procedures for the Project as soon as possible; balance and arrange capital sources to implement the Project, and report to the Prime Minister before September 20, 2024.
