At 4:25 p.m. on June 25 (local time), the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation arrived in Beijing, starting an official visit to the People's Republic of China and attending the 14th annual Pioneers Conference of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation at Beijing International Airport were officials from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hung Ba, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai, officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in China.
It is expected that during the working program, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will hold talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang; meet with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping; and meet with Chairman of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji.
Along with that, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended important sessions of the 14th Annual Meeting of WEF Pioneers; had bilateral meetings with WEF Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab, as well as leaders of many countries and international organizations.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh spent time meeting the Vietnamese community in China; meeting with friendly intellectuals and dignitaries; attending the Vietnam - China Business Forum...
During his official visit to China and attendance at the WEF conference with a busy schedule, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed Vietnam's clear and consistent message about its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralization, being a good friend, a reliable partner and a responsible member of the international community.
In particular, it demonstrates Vietnam's respect for its relations with China; its desire to share and update new trends, advanced development and management thinking, and promote the country's image and attract investment to Vietnam through the WEF.

The official delegation joining Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on the working trip included: Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang; Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Minister, Head of the Government Office Tran Van Son; Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung; Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien; Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh; Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises Nguyen Hoang Anh; Deputy Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang; Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu; Deputy Chief of the Party Central Committee Office Bui Van Thach; Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai.
This is Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's first official visit to China, and also the first official visit by a Vietnamese Prime Minister in seven years; it is the first direct meeting between key leaders of the two countries after the People's Republic of China completed the positions of state leaders in the new term.
The visit took place in the context of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two countries maintaining a development trend and achieving many positive results. In particular, the official visit to the People's Republic of China by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong (October 2022) has given a strong impetus to the relationship between the two countries.
Vietnam-China political trust has been strengthened; economic, trade and investment cooperation has maintained growth. Vietnam is China's fourth largest trading partner in the world; two-way trade turnover in 2022 will reach 175 billion USD , accounting for 1/4 of the total trade turnover between China and ASEAN.
Meanwhile, the cooperation between Vietnam and the World Economic Forum continues to develop well. The World Economic Forum and Professor Klaus Schwab personally value and appreciate the role and position of Vietnam. The two sides cooperate in macro policy consulting, reducing plastic waste, sustainable agriculture, narrowing the labor skills gap, digital transformation, etc.
The 14th Annual Pioneers Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Tianjin is organized annually by the World Economic Forum in coordination with the Government of the People's Republic of China, and is the second largest in scale after the Annual Meeting in Davos (Switzerland).
The conference, themed "Business: The Driving Force of the Global Economy", included more than 100 sessions, attracting many leaders from countries and international organizations.
Strengthening cooperation through programs, projects and attending conferences of the World Economic Forum, successfully coordinating and organizing a number of events has contributed to helping Vietnam attract investment, promote the country's image, strengthen relations with many global corporations, update new trends, and advanced development and management thinking.
