On the afternoon of November 2, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte visited Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, a school with special significance in the friendly relations between the two countries and stemming from the noble gesture of the people of Amsterdam (Netherlands).
Early in the morning, before Mr. Mark Rutte arrived, students lined up in two long rows from the lobby, holding tulips - the symbol of the Netherlands - to welcome Prime Minister Mark Rutte. The Dutch leader smiled and waved back when he arrived.
The atmosphere became even more exciting when he arrived at the hall, where hundreds of students and teachers were waiting and welcomed him with endless applause.
With a playful yet respectful gesture towards the distinguished guest, a video recording Mark Rutte's daily moments, created by the students, was later played. The Dutch Prime Minister burst into laughter at this "unique" welcome.
The Dutch leader then listened to questions from the students and answered them enthusiastically throughout the session.
He happily took selfies with the students, waved and thanked them for their love and youthful energy before coloring the mural with them. The mural is a logo celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Netherlands relations , featuring stylized lotus and tulips.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte paid an official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh from November 1 to 2.
Leaving Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands visited the Diplomatic Academy and spoke at the roundtable discussion "International law and order at sea" organized by the Diplomatic Academy in collaboration with the Clingendael Academy (Netherlands).
The Dutch leader also awarded certificates to students of the maritime law course co-organized by the two academies.
Many Vietnamese and international scholars and maritime law experts attended the conference along with more than 140 guests, students of maritime law courses and over 200 students of the Diplomatic Academy.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Mark Rutte emphasized the importance of the rule of law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), and affirmed that the Netherlands, as the "capital of international law", always complies with and supports international law.
The Dutch Prime Minister also highly appreciated the prospects of cooperation between the two countries, affirming that he will continue to maintain existing cooperation and expand cooperation potential in other fields.
