(NLDO) - The Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway, the section passing through Binh Duong province, has a total length of about 52 km.
On the morning of February 1 (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), at DT. 746 Street, Tan Hiep Ward, Tan Uyen City, Binh Duong Province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and leaders of central ministries and branches attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway, the section passing through Binh Duong Province.
The Ho Chi Minh City – Thu Dau Mot – Chon Thanh Expressway project, the section passing through Binh Duong province, has a total length of about 52 km, planned with a scale of 6 expressway lanes, design speed of 100 km/h.
In phase 1, the project is invested in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), with a scale of 4 expressway lanes, continuous emergency lanes along the entire route, a roadbed width of 25.5m, and a total investment of about 17,400 billion VND.
This expressway connects Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 to Chon Thanh town (Binh Phuoc province), creating development momentum for the Southeast region, expanding urban and industrial space.
When the Chon Thanh – Gia Nghia Expressway is completed, it will continue to connect with the Central Highlands region, creating regional connectivity, promoting socio-economic development, while ensuring national defense and security. This project also contributes to realizing the goal of 5,000 km of expressway set by the Party and Government in the 2021-2030 period.
