Cultural destination

On the morning of November 17, more than 100 students from Nuoc Oa Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities (Bac Tra My) visited the Quang Nam Museum. Although the visit lasted nearly 2 hours, it still seemed not enough for many students, many of whom expressed regret at having to end the program early.

Nguyen Hoang Nghiep - a 10th grade student at Nuoc Oa Ethnic Boarding Secondary and High School shared that this was the first time he had come to Quang Nam Museum, so he was very surprised because all the artifacts were beautiful and rare. In particular, the museum guide was very friendly, enthusiastic, and ready to explain all the questions of him and his fellow students.

"The model that impressed me the most was the gong dance festival, it looked so real that I still organize it sometimes" - Hoang Nghiep said.

Among the more than 100 students present at the Quang Nam Museum on the morning of November 17, almost everyone was interested in the exhibits and the display space. Ho Thi Thao Nguyen, a 10th grade student at Nuoc Oa Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities, said that the brocades and traditional costumes of the mountainous ethnic minorities on display at the museum reminded her of the ramoong robes of the Ca Dong people in her hometown.

Thao Nguyen shared: “This is the second time I have been to the Provincial Museum, but every time I find it beautiful. If I have the chance to go to Tam Ky, I will come here again.”

The museum is not only a place to preserve and display artifacts, documents, images, etc., but also a space for experiencing memories of a bygone era. According to Ms. Huynh Thi Bich Loi - History teacher, Nuoc Oa Ethnic Boarding Secondary and High School, bringing students to the museum is a useful extracurricular activity to help them better understand the history and culture of Quang Nam, fostering pride and love for the homeland for future generations.

My students and I have seen many images and documents about the history, culture, architecture, and traditional craft villages of Quang Nam in a comprehensive and diverse way. The tour is really useful for our teaching and learning work."

In particular, based on the Project "Promoting lifelong learning activities in libraries, museums, cultural houses, and clubs" approved by the Prime Minister and documents from sectors on the use of cultural heritage in teaching in general schools, Quang Nam Museum proactively contacted and actively coordinated with schools and educational institutions to organize for students to visit and participate in experiential activities at the museum.

From the beginning of 2024 until now, the unit has organized 3 sightseeing and experience activities with a number of topics such as "Back to the memory land", "I learn to be an archaeologist", "Painting Tuong masks and making traditional banh beo"... The museum also researched and developed many lectures, coordinated with Nguyen Du Secondary School (Tam Ky) to organize direct learning at the museum on the topic of "learning and studying local history and culture" for 6th grade students, thereby spreading the values of cultural heritage to students and teenagers...
