At first, Mr. Hai only raised betta fish "for fun", to satisfy his passion. Gradually, people saw and liked the beautiful fish of all kinds swimming in his cement tanks, so they offered to buy them.

From the hobby of raising fish, seeing the ease of breeding and potential market, in 2017, Mr. Hai decided to start a business with betta fish with a capital of only 5 million VND. At that time, Hai used this money to buy quality fish breeds, plastic tanks, build cement tanks...

This betta fish has colorful fins that are likened to "Oriental jewelry" by fish keepers. They are also called fighting fish because of their "aggressive" nature.

According to Mr. Hai, aggression is a gift from nature. Because when agitated or preparing to fight, betta fish are at their most beautiful, their fins spread wide and their colors become more colorful and sparkling than ever.

By exploring breeding, crossbreeding, and visiting and learning from many fish farms both domestically and internationally, Hai gradually grasped the process of creating high-quality betta fish.

“At first, I researched on newspapers and social networks, then went directly to the farms to learn from the experiences of long-time fish farmers. The more I learned, the more I saw the economic potential of this fish species,” Hai shared.

Because of his skillful care, the farm is increasingly known by many ornamental fish players. Currently, Mr. Hai has invested in expanding the fish farm to an area of 200m2, maintaining a quantity of 5,000-6,000 fish.

Betta fish can be raised in glass tanks, plastic jars... According to Mr. Hai, after 2.5-3 months, the fish are separated into separate groups (separated from the group and raised according to a regimen to make the fish healthier and more beautiful) in separate containers. Raised like this for nearly a month, when the fish reach the standard size and color, they can be sold. The average lifespan of this fish species is 2-3 years.

“A beautiful betta fish is evaluated based on factors such as color, shape... Fish from 3-4 months old will begin to mature in color and shape. During this stage, the fish are almost fully developed, and the most beautiful and standard parent fish pairs can be selected for breeding” - the fish farm owner shared.
