The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has just officially announced information about primary school enrollment in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025, including enrollment in grade 6 and enrollment in grade 10.
Accordingly, the 10th grade entrance exam this year will take place on June 6 and 7. Candidates will take 3 subjects, including Math, Literature (120 minutes/subject), and Foreign Language (90 minutes).
Candidates registering for the entrance exam to the City's specialized high schools must take the fourth subject (specialized subject) with a duration of 150 minutes/subject. Each specialized subject has its own exam according to the junior high school curriculum, the exam content ensures the selection of students with talent in that specialized subject.

For students entering grade 6, the admission method is by examination. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has also provided specific information about the admission criteria as follows:
Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School and some local secondary schools can conduct admission based on a combination of two criteria including training and learning results in primary school years and the results of capacity assessment surveys. In particular, local secondary schools must simultaneously meet two requirements: having a number of candidates registering exceeding the enrollment quota in recent years and being proposed by the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, districts and towns.
The remaining secondary schools conduct admission based on the results of training and learning at the primary level and use data from GIS maps to serve the allocation of students, in which the admission areas of the schools are decided by the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, districts and counties according to the actual situation in the locality.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training emphasized that detailed information on the organization process, registration method, implementation time, enrollment conditions and related contents are specified in the City's Primary Enrollment Plan and guiding documents issued by the Department of Education and Training.
The Department of Education and Training requests the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City, districts and towns to fully deploy to units and ensure information to students and parents. During the implementation process, if there are any problems, please report immediately to the Department of Education and Training.
