BHG - On the morning of February 14, the Department of Industry and Trade held a conference on solutions to implement the socio-economic development targets of the Industry and Trade sector in 2025. In implementing the socio-economic development tasks in 2024, the Industry and Trade sector has achieved many important results. Notably, the industrial production index reached 113.6%, an increase of 13.6% compared to 2023, an increase of 8.6% compared to the planned target. Total retail sales of goods and services increased by 15.7% compared to 2023. Import and export activities had many positive changes; the total value of imported and exported goods reached 308 million USD...

However, the industrial production sector has grown slowly and unstably, especially in the fields of mineral exploitation and industrial processing. Import and export activities are not commensurate with the province's potential and depend largely on the Chinese market. Some hydropower projects are expected to complete power generation in 2024 but are still behind schedule...

By 2025, the Industry and Trade sector strives to: Increase the industrial production index by 15%; total retail sales of goods and services increase by 11%; total value of imported and exported goods reaches 500 million USD; complete 12 border villages with electricity to ensure the rate of border villages with electricity according to New Rural criteria reaches 100%.

At the conference, delegates discussed and contributed many enthusiastic and responsible opinions, focusing on proposing solutions to overcome difficulties in order to complete the socio-economic development targets of the Industry and Trade sector in 2025. In particular, emphasizing the need to strengthen coordination, clearly assign responsibilities between departments, branches and localities; maximally mobilize and effectively use resources to ensure the successful implementation of the assigned tasks.

Key solutions include: Reviewing, guiding and urging mineral production, exploitation and processing establishments to complete administrative procedures and put projects into operation soon; supporting hydropower plants to complete legal procedures to ensure sufficient conditions for commercial power generation into the national power system. Investing in industrial cluster infrastructure; developing a market development plan for the period 2026 - 2030 and transforming the market management model. Promoting import and export activities, attracting investment. Organizing fairs and exhibitions of typical rural industrial products, promoting trade promotion activities; supporting businesses and production and business units to open booths on e-commerce platforms. Along with that, Meo Vac, Quan Ba, Vi Xuyen and Hoang Su Phi districts coordinate with relevant agencies to allocate capital and strive to complete the goal of bringing national grid electricity to 12 border villages as planned...
