Currently, local farmers are focusing on harvesting pepper. However, pepper productivity in some areas is forecast to decrease due to weather effects.
Specifically, in some pepper growing areas in Dak Nong, harsh weather has reduced productivity compared to 2024. However, pepper prices are still high, bringing excitement to farmers, motivating them in the process of harvesting and caring for their gardens.
Many pepper farmers said that in the past, most farmers often consigned all their products to agents or companies after harvest, leading to a situation of being forced to sell at a lower price. However, in recent years, they have changed their methods by drying and preserving pepper at home, helping them avoid being forced to sell at a higher price at a favorable time.
