On January 14, at the 2024 Asian Rifle and Pistol Championship in Jakarta, Vietnamese shooters entered the final competition.
The Vietnamese delegation finished the competition and ranked 5th overall with 1 gold medal and 2 silver medals. This is a commendable achievement of Vietnamese Sports right in the first days of 2024.

At this tournament, Vietnamese shooters were sponsored by ASONG Invest Company Limited to go to Jakarta one week before the competition, to have the opportunity to practice shooting live ammunition and get used to the competition conditions.
This training period was very useful because before that, Vietnamese shooters did not have good training conditions as they were hardly allowed to fire live ammunition.
With a much smaller number of athletes (only 11 shooters) compared to many other delegations such as India (60 athletes), Korea (45 athletes)... the achievement of 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals and winning 1 ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics at this tournament is a great victory for the Vietnamese shooting delegation.
The delegation also completed excellently and exceeded the initial goal of winning medals and at least 1 Olympic ticket.
Thus, up to this point, the Indian delegation maintained its top position in the rankings with 14 gold medals; 10 silver medals and 8 bronze medals. Next is the Chinese delegation with 7 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 4 bronze medals. The Korean delegation ranked 3rd with 5 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 6 bronze medals.
The tournament continues until January 18 with portable air rifle and 25m revolver events.
