Pepper price today, February 8, 2025, in the domestic market is stable in key localities, trading from 150,500 - 153,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, pepper price today in Gia Lai is at 151,000 VND/kg.
Pepper prices today in the provinces of Dong Nai (150,500 VND/kg); Dak Lak (153,000 VND/kg); Dak Nong (153,000 VND/kg); Ba Ria - Vung Tau (152,000 VND/kg) and Binh Phuoc (152,000 VND/kg).
Thus, pepper prices today are stable in key growing areas. The highest pepper price is at 153,000 VND/kg.
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), in January 2025, Vietnam imported 1,817 tons of pepper, of which black pepper reached 753 tons and white pepper reached 1,064 tons, with a total import turnover of 10.9 million USD, compared to December 2024, the import volume decreased by 51.5%.
Indonesia is the main pepper supplier to Vietnam, accounting for 73.6% reaching 1,338 tons, however, compared to the previous month, it decreased by 56.4%.
According to Dak Nong Radio and Television, right after the Lunar New Year, local farmers are entering the pepper harvest season. Compared to the same period in 2024, this year pepper prices have many positive signs, making people more excited and hopeful for a bumper crop.
This year, the erratic weather has caused pepper output to decrease and the crop to ripen unevenly. To ensure quality, most farmers in Dak Nong province have just started harvesting after the Tet holiday. Although productivity has decreased somewhat, pepper prices are showing many positive signs, bringing joy and great expectations to farmers, promising a successful crop.
At the end of the most recent trading session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed the price of Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) at 7,283 USD/ton; the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 at 6,400 USD/ton, up 100 USD/ton (1.56%); the price of Kuching black pepper (Malaysia) ASTA at 9,000 USD/ton.
Muntok white pepper price is 9,780 USD/ton; Malaysian ASTA white pepper price is at 11,600 USD/ton.
Vietnam black pepper price is traded at 6,500 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 6,650 USD/ton; white pepper price at 9,550 USD/ton. IPC increases Brazilian pepper price.
