On the afternoon of February 23 (January 14, Giap Thin year), at the historical and cultural relic of Tran Nhat Duat Temple at the foot of Van Trinh mountain, in Linh Hung village, Quang Hop commune (Quang Xuong), the Lantern Festival of Giap Thin spring 2024 was held.

Tran Nhat Duat was the 6th Prince, son of King Tran Thai Tong, born in the year of At Mao (1255), originally from Nam Dinh. He was not only a brave military man but also a tolerant politician, diplomat, and learned culturalist. He was the one who created the Van Trinh singing style - one of the first styles of Vietnamese Ca Tru.
Tran Nhat Duat had great merit in two resistance wars against foreign invaders, protecting the independent and autonomous Dai Viet nation, contributing to the heroic spirit of the Dong A Tran Dynasty in defeating the Yuan-Mongol army that invaded our country three times. He once guarded the border in Da Giang, Tuyen Quang, then was assigned by King Tran to govern Thanh Hoa, he established a fiefdom in the Van Trinh region.
The temple of King Chieu Van Tran Nhat Duat is currently being proposed for recognition as a national historical and cultural relic.
After his death, the royal court, relatives, and local people built a temple to worship him at the foot of Van Trinh mountain. After restoration, Tran Nhat Duat temple was recognized as a provincial historical and cultural relic in 2004.
According to legend, on the occasion of the 15th day of the first lunar month, Chieu Van expressed his respect to his grandparents and ancestors by offering sacrifices and setting up an altar to pray for a new year of good luck and favorable business for the people.

At Van Trinh palace, he let out flower lanterns, performed lion dances and lit lanterns for the people to see. In the palace, he held a banquet to entertain soldiers and guests; organized the opening of seals and writings; carried out rewards, granted titles and salaries, provided military provisions and organized games and performances such as chess matches, martial arts; singing, and poetry. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Lantern Festival, the leader of Quang Hop commune affirmed that over the past year, with the consensus and joint efforts, the Party Committee and people of Quang Hop commune have promoted their internal strength, successfully completed socio-economic, national defense and security tasks; people's lives have been improved; the commune has achieved 15/19 criteria for building advanced new rural areas, contributing to changing the appearance and vitality of the homeland.
Villages in Quang Hop commune, along with many people, offered gifts to King Chieu Van Tran Nhat Duat on the occasion of the Lantern Festival.
Promoting the achieved results, in the new year of Giap Thin, Quang Hop commune is determined to complete the goals and tasks of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, building a developed and prosperous homeland; continue to preserve and promote the tangible and intangible cultural values of the provincial-level historical and cultural relic of Tran Nhat Duat Temple; strive to make Van Trinh Opera House become an Intangible Cultural Heritage, towards the temple of Duc Thanh Chieu Van Dai Vuong Tran Nhat Duat being ranked as a national historical relic.

During the Lantern Festival at Tran Nhat Duat Temple, many activities took place such as opening the writing, performing arts, and performing Van Trinh opera... These are unique cultural features held on January 14 every year, thereby contributing to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the provincial historical and cultural relic of Tran Nhat Duat Temple, meeting the spring enjoyment needs of the people and tourists.
