In the warm atmosphere of Tet, on February 18, the Consulate General of Vietnam in San Francisco organized the Homeland Spring program to celebrate the Year of the Dragon 2024 in Orange County, California, USA.

This is the second Xuan Que Huong program during the traditional Tet holiday this year, after the success of the Xuan Que Huong program in San Francisco on February 4, 2024, and also the third consecutive year that the Consulate General of Vietnam in San Francisco has organized the Xuan Que Huong program in Orange County, California, the area with the largest concentration of overseas Vietnamese in the United States and in the world. More than 200 guests, including representatives of the Vietnamese community from cities in Southern California, along with a number of American and international friends with ties to Vietnam, attended the ceremony. Speaking at the ceremony, Consul General Hoang Anh Tuan was moved to thank the large presence of overseas Vietnamese and distinguished guests who attended and shared this event to celebrate together, remember the homeland, and the flavor of Tet that is very close and dear to every Vietnamese person. The Consul General highly appreciated the Vietnamese community in Southern California, emphasizing the increasingly successful integration of the community into the mainstream of economic, political, social and cultural life of the United States; the increasingly strong solidarity and cohesion within the community and becoming an influential voice in political issues of cities, districts and the entire state of California; the promotion and preservation of the identity of traditional Vietnamese cultural characteristics, and at the same time hoped that the community would increasingly be attached, united and turn towards the homeland.

Reviewing Vietnam's outstanding economic and social achievements in 2023; the results of foreign affairs and people's diplomacy in 2023, the Consul General emphasized that the above achievements have significant contributions from the Vietnamese community in the United States in general and in California in particular, hoping that the Vietnamese community in the United States will continue to grow stronger, continue to be a bridge, and actively contribute to the development of Vietnam-US relations. Emphasizing the very substantial progress in cooperation between Vietnam and the United States in the economic field, accounting for 4 out of 10 cooperation priorities between the two countries stated in the Joint Statement upgrading relations to the level of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the United States, especially the willingness to support Vietnam in developing the semiconductor industry, Consul General Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed that, with its functions and position, the Vietnamese Representative Office in California continues to strive to fulfill its role as a bridge, supporting cooperation between the two governments and between businesses in the Silicon Valley region and domestically, in order to gradually contribute to the common goal of helping Vietnam take off and put its name on the world's technology map.

In the warm atmosphere of the Tet reunion, the guests and overseas Vietnamese expressed their joy and emotion when meeting in a warm atmosphere imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity, enjoying many traditional Vietnamese Tet dishes and special cultural programs performed by the Vietnamese community and Vietnamese students studying in the United States. They also hope that the Vietnamese Consulate General in San Francisco will continue to organize more community events, thereby contributing to connecting and joining hands to build a strong Vietnamese community in the United States, with an increasingly important role and influence in the United States.
