SAM-2 missile fired to destroy UAV in air defense exercise

(Dan Tri) - On the morning of October 18, during the 2024 Air Defense Force Live-Fire Tactical Exercise, the S-75 Dvina missile took off many times to destroy UAV targets in the sky within a range of 16km.
On the morning of October 18, at the TB1 National Shooting Range (Luc Ngan District, Bac Giang), the Air Defense - Air Force opened the 2024 Air Defense Force Live-Fire Tactical Exercise. The live-fire tactical exercise of the air defense force aims to evaluate the results of training, combat readiness; evaluate the quality of weapons and equipment and technical support of the units. This is also an opportunity to train and improve the command organization level, combat capabilities, combat operations of combat crews of each unit, especially in complex situations... from which to draw lessons to organize command, combat operations and organize troop training close to reality, meeting mission requirements.
Since the morning of October 17, air defense forces have completed preparations and are ready to carry out the exercise mission.
For the exercise to be successful, agencies and units in the Air Defense - Air Force have done a good job of preparing, ensuring all aspects, ensuring equipment, ammunition, and a stable and smooth communication system; at the same time, closely coordinated with local authorities to ensure security, order and social safety in the area of Shooting Range Area 1. Anti-aircraft artillery positions with 57mm and 37mm guns practiced shooting down UAV targets in the sky. In addition, units practiced firing low-altitude ZSu-23-4M missiles. UAV hovers as a target for practice shooting in the sky of TB1 National Shooting Range.
Before that, the anti-aircraft artillery force practiced firing day and night to best prepare for the official rehearsal. The 2024 air defense force live-fire tactical exercise will involve the practice firing of six air defense divisions. 57mm guns roared as units practiced target shooting at night. The S-75 Dvina surface-to-air missile (also known as Volga or SAM-2) leaves the launcher and aims to destroy the UAV target 16km away. The S-75 Dvina air defense missile system has a range of up to 27km and a range of up to 35km.
Air defense units practiced firing multiple rounds of S-75 Dvina missiles from different positions at the TB1 firing range. This is also a regular training task to help Air Defense troops grasp the features, technical tactics of weapons as well as master weapons and equipment, be ready to respond to situations, and protect the peace of the Fatherland's airspace. Officers and soldiers of Division 367 (Air Defense - Air Force) received congratulatory flowers from the division leaders after successfully firing the S-75 Dvina missile, successfully completing the firing task. The tactical exercise with live ammunition of air defense units in 2024 is an opportunity for air defense forces in the entire service to make achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day.
