After more than 12 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development (NTM), Tay Ninh province has achieved many great achievements, contributing to rapid and clear changes in the socio-economic appearance in rural areas.
The program not only improves people’s material life but also elevates their spirit, while ensuring a bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe rural environment and landscape, and preserving traditional cultural identity. Political security and social order and safety are also maintained and stabilized.
Outstanding achievements
Up to now, Tay Ninh province has had 65 out of 71 communes meeting the new rural standards, of which 25 communes have met the advanced new rural standards and 3 communes have met the model new rural standards. The earliest is Hoa Thanh town, which has been recognized for completing the task of building new rural areas in 2022. Tay Ninh city and Trang Bang town are completing the documents to be recognized.
It is expected that by 2025, the province will complete the following targets: 71 communes meeting NTM standards (100%), 25 communes meeting advanced NTM standards, 4 communes meeting model NTM standards; Tay Ninh city and Trang Bang town will complete the task of building NTM and 1 district will meet NTM standards (Ben Cau) in 2024.

These figures clearly reflect the efforts of the entire political system in implementing the NTM criteria, aiming to create a better living environment for the people.
The change is not only in the number of communes meeting the standards but also in the quality of life of rural people. After the program was implemented, people's lives have been significantly improved. The growth rate of the province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) has been maintained at 5% per year, demonstrating the vitality and sustainability of the rural economy.
GRDP per capita increased from 3,190 USD in 2020 to 3,690 USD in 2022, which shows a clear improvement in per capita income. Social security and welfare policies have also been guaranteed, promptly caring for policy beneficiaries and households in difficult circumstances.
One of the important highlights of the New Rural Development Program in Tay Ninh is the improvement of infrastructure. Rural roads are upgraded and expanded, facilitating travel and transportation of goods, thereby promoting economic development in the region.
The total number of rural roads invested in the 2021-2023 period is 4,237km, an increase of 1,094km compared to the 2016-2020 period. Of which, 3,007km will be newly built and 1,230km will be renovated and repaired.
The construction of welfare facilities such as schools, health stations, cultural houses, as well as upgrading the rural power grid system have received special attention. The rural power grid system has been renovated and gradually upgraded towards safety, reliability and stability, ensuring aesthetics.
Up to now, the rate of rural population using clean water has reached 99.4%, which not only improves the quality of life but also protects public health.

Many production models have been transformed towards high-tech agriculture, promoting the development of traditional industries, with local specialty products, with 68 products recognized as OCOP products.
Preserving rural culture and environment
The NTM program also focuses on preserving the traditional cultural identity of localities. Cultural and sports activities are encouraged, creating a healthy playground for people, while preserving the good customs and practices of the community. Traditional festivals and mass cultural activities are held regularly, contributing to enriching the cultural and spiritual life of the people.
Regarding the environment, the rural landscape has been significantly improved. Communes have done a good job of environmental sanitation, maintaining drainage systems and green, clean and beautiful public areas. The launching of environmental protection movements and tree planting has also been actively carried out, contributing to creating a clean and safe living environment for people.
The NTM program not only brings economic and environmental benefits but also contributes to maintaining political security and social order and safety. Authorities at all levels have focused on crime prevention and control, ensuring security and order in localities. Political and social stability is a prerequisite for economic development, promoting smooth production and business activities.

The National Target Program on New Rural Development in Tay Ninh Province has brought many practical benefits to rural areas. The results achieved over the past 12 years are not only the achievements of a program but also the joint efforts of the entire political system, the active participation of the community and the support of organizations and businesses.
With positive changes in the socio-economic landscape, improved people's lives, maintained political security and social order and safety, Tay Ninh has created a solid foundation for continued development in the following years.
