Costa Serena brings nearly 3,500 international tourists to Da Nang

DNVN - On October 22, the Costa Serena cruise ship operated by Khang Huy Holiday Vietnam Tourism Company Limited brought nearly 3,500 international guests and crew to Tien Sa port (Da Nang).

Mr. Ly Dac Nam - Director of Khang Huy Holiday Vietnam Tourism Company Limited said that the cruise ship Costa Serena departed from Hong Kong port (China) and took nearly 3,500 international tourists straight to Tien Sa port, Da Nang.

Passengers on the Costa Serena ship arrive at Tien Sa port (Da Nang) on ​​the morning of October 22.

During their stay in Da Nang, tourists visit famous scenic spots and destinations such as Sun World Ba Na Hill tourist area, the special national monument Ngu Hanh Son; experience city tours to explore culture, cuisine, shop for local specialties, see the sea, Son Tra peninsula... Some visitors choose to visit Hoi An ancient town (Quang Nam).

According to Mr. Ly Dac Nam, the cruise ship tourist season usually starts from October this year to April next year. Khang Huy Holiday Vietnam Travel Company Limited mainly exploits tourists to the Central region. It is expected that during this year's cruise ship season, the company will welcome about 50 ships to Tien Sa port (Da Nang) and Chan May port (Thua Thien Hue).

Mr. Ly Dac Nam also said that after tourists visit and shop, the Costa Serena will leave Da Nang at 6:00 p.m. the same day. According to him, the characteristic of cruise tourists is that they do not stay at the destination for too long, and they like to experience culture, visit and shop. Therefore, Da Nang City needs to soon add more large shopping centers to stimulate spending of this type of tourist.

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, in the first 9 months of 2024, there were 27 cruise ships bringing nearly 33,000 international tourists to Da Nang, an increase of 5 ships and nearly 14,500 visitors compared to the total in 2023. It is expected that in 2024, Da Nang will welcome 40,000 cruise tourists, an increase of 120% compared to 2023.
