Surprising discovery about exercise hours that help prolong life

New research published in the scientific journal Nature Communications has found that exercising in the afternoon is more effective at prolonging life than exercising in the morning or evening.

To examine the association between exercise, timing of exercise, and overall mortality risk, the researchers used health and demographic data from 92,000 people in the UK Biomedical Database.

Exercising in the afternoon is more effective in reducing the risk of premature death than exercising in the morning or evening

All participants wore monitors to track exercise time and fitness levels.

The researchers then classified these people into four groups according to the time of exercise as follows: Morning exercise, from 5 am to 11 am; Afternoon exercise from 11 am to 5 pm; Evening exercise from 5 pm to night; A group that exercised at different times of the day.

After 7 years, 3,088 people died, of which 1,076 died of heart disease and 1,872 died of cancer... The authors analyzed data from the 2003–2018 US National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).

They found that watermelon eaters had higher levels of essential nutrients including fiber, magnesium, potassium, vitamin C and vitamin A, as well as lycopene and other carotenoids. They also had lower levels of added sugar and total saturated fat.
