(QBĐT) - In order to support households in difficult circumstances without capital for production and economic development, the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) - Quang Binh Branch has promptly disbursed and implemented a job creation loan package with preferential loan rates. Thanks to that, many households have had capital to invest in economic development and have a better life.
While busy cleaning up and selling to customers, Mr. Tran Ngoc Toan and Ms. Truong Thi Tuyet in Duc Ninh commune (Dong Hoi city) still took the time to share with us about the process of accessing the job creation loan package from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies to develop the economy.
Mr. Toan said: “In the past, my family also started a business with a grocery store model. However, at that time, due to lack of capital for investment, the grocery store was very small and there were not many goods, so there were very few people coming to buy, mainly from surrounding households, so there was no profit. After many years of doing business, my wife and I still did not have the capital to invest in expanding the store and buying goods. Fortunately, in 2022, my wife and I received support from the Women's Union of Duc Ninh commune, consulting on a suitable loan package to solve employment with an amount of 100 million VND".

After receiving the loan, Toan's family invested a small amount of capital to expand and upgrade the grocery store. With the remaining loan, he and his wife invested in buying more goods to sell. Thanks to that, the goods on display are more diverse and in large quantities, so customers come to shop more than before. Income from this business model has helped his family have a stable income of about 100 million VND/year.
Not only in the case of Mr. Tran Ngoc Toan, in recent years, thousands of households in the province have had access to loans to create jobs, develop the economy and increase income.
According to Decree No. 74/2019/ND-CP dated September 23, 2019 amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 61/2015/ND-CP dated July 9, 2015 of the Government regulating policies to support job creation and the National Employment Fund, the loan amount of the job creation loan package is increased to a maximum of VND 100 million (previously VND 50 million) for workers; production and business establishments have a maximum loan amount of up to VND 2 billion/project and not exceeding VND 100 million/worker to create, maintain and expand jobs. The maximum loan term is 120 months. The loan interest rate is equal to the loan interest rate for poor households. The adjustment of the loan amount and loan term has helped many households have the opportunity to expand investment in production models and economic development.
| From 2024 to present, the VBSP - Quang Binh Branch has disbursed loans for the job creation program with an amount of 407.5 billion VND. This is one of the programs with the largest loan turnover. Through the program, 7,242 workers have been helped to borrow capital to create jobs, and 1,507 households have borrowed capital for production and business in difficult areas. |
In our province, the program has been implemented for many years in localities across the province and has been effective in helping thousands of households develop production to have a stable source of income.
Director of the Social Policy Bank - Quang Binh Branch, Tran Van Tai, said: In the past, despite difficulties in mobilizing loan capital, the provincial Social Policy Bank still implemented the job creation loan program. Through the Social Policy Bank of districts, towns, cities, socio-political organizations and localities, the job creation loan package has reached the right subjects in need of loans. Thanks to that, many households and businesses have had the opportunity to expand their economic development models and increase their income. It can be affirmed that the job creation loan program has made an important contribution to helping the locality complete programs and goals on sustainable poverty reduction, job creation, and ensuring social security.
In order to help many households in difficult circumstances have conditions to develop production, in the coming time, the Social Policy Bank - Quang Binh Branch will continue to promote disbursement and lending for the job creation program. At the same time, it will coordinate with socio-political organizations and local authorities to regularly inspect and monitor cases after borrowing capital to ensure that the subjects use the capital for the right purpose and effectively.
