In recent times, Thach Thanh district has always paid attention to and encouraged farmers to participate in linkage and cooperation models; prioritized attracting enterprises to invest in agricultural development according to value chains with production linkages and product consumption; focused on developing raw material areas of local agricultural and forestry products. In many communes and towns, farming households have established cooperatives and cooperative groups to link up to build concentrated raw material areas, applying advanced technology in production to improve productivity and quality of agricultural products. A typical example is the linkage chain of sustainable forest planting and management according to FSC standards between Xuan Son Wood Processing Joint Stock Company and 111 household groups, 1,575 members in 11 communes; the total implemented area is more than 3,327 hectares.
To participate in planting and managing sustainable forests according to FSC standards, people must comply with safe farming principles, such as: not using herbicides, chemical pesticides, not burning vegetation; Enterprises supplying high-quality seeds, organic fertilizers, training on planting, caring, and exploiting wood, and purchasing all products for people... Mr. Trinh Thai Son, Director of Xuan Son Wood Processing Joint Stock Company, said: "Implementing linkages in sustainable forest planting and management and certification according to FSC standards will meet market requirements on the origin and legality of wood and wood products, and at the same time meet the province's forestry restructuring project. Planting forests according to FSC standards will increase benefits in all three aspects: environmental protection, increasing income for producers and social security. The clear evidence is that wood output has increased from 2 to 2.5 times compared to before, and the selling price of wood is committed by enterprises to buy back at a price 5-10% higher than the market price. FSC wood products in the district are linked with Nam Dinh Forestry Products Joint Stock Company (a wood processing unit exporting FSC to European markets). Europe) purchases glue products for farmers".
For many years, Xuan Minh Agricultural Service and Rural Development Cooperative (Tho Xuan) has become a bright spot in changing the small-scale, fragmented production mindset of farmers. Ms. Do Thi Hoa, director of the cooperative, said: "Participating in the production and product consumption chain, people only focus on production while the cooperative supplies seeds, fertilizers and consumes products. When participating in the chain, farmers only need to focus on production without having to worry about output and prices. Currently, the cooperative has built a chain of links, consuming hundreds of tons of rice products per year with Thai Binh Seed Group; a chain of consuming vegetables, tubers and fruits with a number of enterprises such as Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Seed Company... thanks to which local people increasingly trust and proactively participate as members of the cooperative to improve production levels and product value".
To date, the province has built more than 1,200 safe agricultural and food supply chains, including: rice, vegetables, tubers, fruits, livestock meat, poultry, poultry eggs, seafood and seafood products. In 2024, the market will be supplied with over 600,000 tons of various consumer foods. The construction and development of safe agricultural production supply chains has contributed to changing awareness and knowledge about food safety, improving management skills, control, identification and assessment of food safety risks of actors participating in the chain. At the same time, it increases the responsibility of each person in ensuring product quality, creating a large source of goods to supply to the market.
In order to exploit the potential and advantages of localities, aiming to develop a modern and sustainable agricultural sector, the agricultural sector and localities in the province are actively calling on enterprises and cooperatives to link production, consume products, invest in expanding scale, and diversify products.
