To strengthen the Vietnam-Japan bilateral relationship , President Vo Van Thuong suggested that the two sides further increase contacts and exchanges of high-level delegations and delegations at all levels in all fields: the State, the National Assembly, the Government, Japanese political parties, ministries, branches and localities of the two countries.
On the afternoon of September 6, at the Presidential Palace, President Vo Van Thuong received President of the Japanese House of Councilors Otsuji Hidehisa, who is on an official visit to Vietnam.
President Vo Van Thuong highly appreciated the visit, which took place at a very meaningful time when the two countries were celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations. The President believed that the visit by the Senate Chairman would strongly promote cooperation between the two countries' parliaments; at the same time, it would make an important contribution to fostering the friendship and extensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan.
President Vo Van Thuong expressed his delight at the important achievements of the Vietnam-Japan relationship. Accordingly, trust and mutual understanding between the two countries have been continuously enhanced, creating a good foundation to further promote bilateral cooperation programs and projects.
The President appreciated the unity of Japanese political parties in promoting cooperative relations with Vietnam, as demonstrated by the presence of many representatives of Japanese political parties in the delegation of Japanese senators visiting Vietnam this time. On the basis of the two countries having many similarities, people-to-people exchanges, educational, scientific and cultural cooperation have achieved many good results, helping to enhance mutual understanding between the people of the two countries. The President also appreciated the close and effective cooperation between the youth of the two countries; actively contributing to fostering the friendship and the extensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan.
To strengthen bilateral relations , the President suggested that both sides further increase contacts and exchanges of delegations at high and all levels in all fields: the State, the National Assembly, the Government, Japanese political parties, ministries, branches and localities of the two countries. Vietnam wishes to further promote exchanges between parliamentarians of the two countries, including exchanges between young parliamentarians. The two sides aim for a higher and further cooperation vision, bringing the bilateral relationship to new heights in the future.
Emphasizing that 2023 is a historic year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations; 50 years of ASEAN-Japan relations and 15 years of Japan-Mekong relations, the President highly appreciated Japan's contributions in promoting cooperation with ASEAN ; thereby actively contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
