Strengthening the management of bird's nest farming in the province

Accordingly, the Department of Agriculture and Environment guides organizations and individuals engaged in swiftlet farming activities to strictly comply with regulations on swiftlet farming facilities and swiftlet nest processing; guides the implementation of regulations on environmental protection, minimizing the impact of noise and unpleasant odors in swiftlet farming activities. Waste from swiftlet farming activities must be collected and treated in accordance with the provisions of the law on environmental protection and related regulations.

The use of audio equipment in bird nest farming activities must comply with legal regulations and national technical regulations on noise. Facilities must fully implement environmental procedures such as environmental impact assessment reports, environmental licenses or environmental registration; carry out land procedures for organizations; provide technical guidance on building bird nest houses; apply standards, technical regulations and regulations on quality management, traceability for facilities exploiting, processing and preserving products from bird nests.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to direct the People's Committees at the commune level to determine the areas for raising swiftlets according to the provisions of Clause 1, Article 3 of Resolution No. 17 dated December 8, 2020 of the Provincial People's Council on the inner city areas of cities, towns, townships and residential areas where breeding is not allowed, as well as to determine the areas for raising swiftlets in Khanh Hoa province. At the same time, guide the owners of swiftlet breeding facilities to declare their breeding activities; organize the implementation, inspect, urge and strictly handle violations according to the provisions of law.
