Since then, the project has become an attractive destination for all residents and tourists. However, due to its location on the banks of the Huong River near the river surface, during each rainy and stormy season, the ironwood bridge project is often "submerged" in floods.

Often walking on the ironwood bridge to sightsee and exercise, Mr. Nguyen Quy Thuan (residing in Hue city) felt uneasy when he saw many wooden planks on the bridge floor rotten and broken. “I often jog on the ironwood bridge. The structure has many damaged spots on the surface that can easily cause pedestrians to slip and fall. I hope the bridge management agency will soon take measures to fix and repair it so that people can feel secure when walking, exercising and sightseeing here,” said Mr. Thuan.

According to some construction experts, the cause of the damaged ironwood bridge deck may be due to improper maintenance after several years of use. In addition, the wooden bridge is often flooded during the rainy season, reducing the durability of the construction materials. Therefore, repairing the bridge is not simply a solution to the immediate situation, but must be sustainable in the long term, ensuring safety in use and maintaining the beauty of one of the iconic structures, a tourist highlight of Hue.

The areas where the ironwood floors are rotten, sunken, and have accumulated garbage and weeds growing lushly but have not been cleaned or removed... make many people think that the care and maintenance of the bridge surface by the management unit of the tourist service facility has not received due attention.
