In recent years, implementing the Project "Developing road traffic infrastructure in the district for the period 2021-2025", rural traffic in Tam Nong district has developed strongly, increasingly meeting the needs of circulation, exchange and consumption of goods, contributing to promoting local socio-economic development.

With the advantage of being adjacent to the capital Hanoi, Tam Nong district is an important transportation hub, creating a connection between the capital Hanoi and the Northwestern provinces with key routes running through the district such as: National Highway 32, 32C, Ho Chi Minh road.

Tam Nong district has many advantages in transportation with national and provincial highways running through it.

Determining the development of road traffic infrastructure as an important factor in promoting socio-economic development and ensuring national security and defense, in recent years, Tam Nong district has focused on mobilizing resources to invest in road traffic infrastructure. National highways, provincial roads, and communal roads have been invested, upgraded, and expanded, shortening the distance between regions. Rural traffic has developed rapidly, contributing to promoting the process of building new rural areas and meeting the needs of people for travel, transportation, and exchange of goods.

However, compared to the development needs of the current socio-economic situation when the number of vehicles participating in traffic increases rapidly, the district's traffic infrastructure still has limitations and inadequacies that cannot meet current needs.

National and provincial highways have been invested in for a long time, the road surface is small and narrow, not regularly maintained and repaired, causing difficulties for travel and transporting goods. On the other hand, new routes have not been invested in and built, especially main roads to create space for urban development.

The solid road system is still not fully covered, especially in sparsely populated rural areas. Technical standards of some roads are still low, traffic safety has not been thoroughly resolved, some black spots have not been promptly handled, traffic safety incidents still occur frequently.

The road traffic network is the bloodline connecting communes, towns, residential areas, connecting urban areas with rural areas, creating economic and cultural centers and meeting the transportation needs of each locality, while creating conditions to attract investment in industrial - handicraft and service development projects in the district.

Comrade Tran Cong Chinh - Head of the Economic - Infrastructure Department of Tam Nong district said: In the Project "Developing road traffic infrastructure in Tam Nong district, period 2021-2025", the district sets the goal of completing key traffic projects; proposes to the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments to eliminate black spots in the area, ensuring that 100% of intersections between national highways and provincial roads, provincial roads and district roads have plans to ensure traffic safety. Mobilize resources to build roads to sparsely populated areas and pay attention to investing in people's bridges through the canal system to production areas and residential areas.

The road connecting Tam Nong Industrial Park with Trung Ha Industrial Park will start construction in 2022 with a total investment of 490 billion VND, invested by the District People's Committee.

As a result, up to now, many key traffic works and projects of the district have been completed and put into use such as: The right dike of Thao River from Km52 - Km69, Tam Nong district... Other projects such as: Inter-regional traffic route connecting Ho Chi Minh road with National Highway 70B, National Highway 32C of Phu Tho province to Yen Bai province, as of November 2023, the section in Tam Nong district has been completed; The traffic route connecting National Highway 32 to Provincial Road 316 connecting Tam Nong industrial park with Trung Ha industrial park has been completed nearly 80% compared to the target set by the Project... The hardening rate of village roads and alley roads has reached about 90%.

It can be seen that the development of road traffic infrastructure in Tam Nong district in recent times has had many positive changes, increasingly meeting the needs of circulation, exchange and consumption of goods, gradually increasing the income of workers. That demonstrates the active participation of the Party Committee, the government as well as the consensus and support of the majority of the people.

In the coming time, the district will continue to focus on mobilizing resources to complete the common goals of the Project: Complete the traffic network in the district according to technical standards, effectively serving the goals of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security. Ensure that the traffic infrastructure is developed synchronously and reasonably, creating connections between regions, ensuring smooth and convenient access within the entire district and connecting with neighboring regions. Carry out investment preparation well, select with focus and priority to invest in traffic routes with the ability to connect regions or inter-regions, bring about socio-economic efficiency, create potential land funds on both sides of the road to serve the expansion of residential areas, increase the urbanization rate.

At the same time, continue to promote propaganda and mobilization work to raise people's awareness of the significance and great benefits of developing road traffic infrastructure, the responsibility of the community and each household in site clearance work to create a movement to build large-scale rural roads throughout the district.
