Large-scale water supply outage in Ho Chi Minh City this weekend

On the evening of November 8, Saigon Water Corporation Limited (Sawaco) announced that it will temporarily interrupt water supply to carry out maintenance work on the medium and low voltage electrical cabinets of Thu Duc Water BOO Joint Stock Company.

Specifically, the time and affected area are as follows: From 11:00 p.m. on November 11, 2023 (Saturday) to 2:00 a.m. on November 12, 2023 (Sunday).

Areas affected by water interruption: All of District 7 (except Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone); all of Nha Be District and Can Gio District.

Other areas with water outage include: District 8 with water outage in wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9; Binh Chanh district with water outage in Binh Hung commune, and Phong Phu commune with weak water flow.

Thu Duc City also has many wards with water outages such as: An Phu, Binh An, Binh Khanh, An Khanh, Thu Thiem, An Loi Dong, Phuoc Binh, Phuoc Long A, Phuoc Long B, Tang Nhon Phu B and High-Tech Park wards.

According to Sawaco, due to the specific conditions of the water supply area, water recovery time in some places far from the source will be slower than the main timeline mentioned above.

According to Sawaco, this unit has directed its affiliated units to regulate the water supply network to minimize areas with interrupted water supply.

At the same time, the company also increased the water supply by tanker trucks to key locations. Water supply by tanker trucks was carried out continuously during the water outage for maintenance of medium and low voltage electrical cabinets at Thu Duc Water Plant.
