Regarding the registration of water quotas, which is of interest to many people, readers have complained to the Tuoi Tre newspaper hotline about Tan Hoa Water Supply Joint Stock Company arbitrarily lowering customers' quotas to calculate increases in domestic water bills.
A reader who asked not to be named (residing in Phu Thanh ward, Tan Phu district, Ho Chi Minh City) said that previously, the company provided her family with 16m3 of water for 4 people.
Recently, the water supply company arbitrarily lowered the family quota to 3 people/12m3 of water and announced that if after this quota reduction, no family has any comments, the company will return the quota to 0m3 .
"Many families don't know until they are charged for water, then they have to go to the company to re-register for water quota. Hundreds of people sit and wait tiredly" - this resident said.
Regarding the above customer feedback, Tan Hoa Water Supply Joint Stock Company has responded.
Specifically, according to the company, based on plan No. 3274 of Saigon Water Corporation (Sawaco) on collecting and updating personal identification numbers to issue domestic water quotas.
Tan Hoa Water Supply Joint Stock Company has collected and reviewed the actual quota for users through personal identification numbers, instead of household registration and temporary residence numbers from 2022 to present.
The company has also announced many times about the extension and re-registration of water quotas using personal identification numbers according to the general policy for the people.
The unit has widely announced to customers on the website and information portals, customer care from April 2022.
In addition, Official Dispatch No. 1952 of 2022 was sent to local authorities and residential groups by distributing leaflets and declaration forms to each house from April 8 to 19, 2022.
Regarding the case of people's complaints, Tan Hoa Water Supply Joint Stock Company said that it had sent Official Letter No. 2167 of 2022 to Phu Thanh Ward People's Committee to support the transfer of information to the heads of residential groups. At the same time, there was Official Letter No. 7265 of 2022 reminding customers.
The unit also periodically informed on the water bill and sent a reminder notice via Zalo Account on November 8, 2023.
"Previously, people registered their quota according to their household registration book. Currently, the household registration book is no longer valid and has been replaced by a personal identification code. Any household that has not contacted to register their water quota according to their identification code during the past period will have their water quota temporarily adjusted to 0m3 or lower than the old quota.
On the other hand, to serve customers quickly and promptly, the company has now assigned more staff and arranged more seats and vehicles for support.
"In case people add identification codes and register water quotas according to regulations, the company will soon adjust water bills to facilitate people," he said.
