On September 19, information from the Office of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province said that the Organizing Committee of the Hue Festival Trade Fair 2024 agreed with the proposal of many businesses to temporarily suspend the display of products at the fair due to force majeure and the impact of storms.
The Festival 2024 Trade Fair takes place from September 16 to 22 with the participation of 231 enterprises and organizations inside and outside Thua Thien Hue province with a scale of 227 booths displaying and introducing products.
The leaders of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Industry and Trade hope to use this event to promote trade promotion activities, so that provinces and cities have the opportunity to introduce their potential, strengths, economic, cultural and social achievements; link trade promotion, investment, culture and tourism; promote product brands; promote multi-faceted trade cooperation between localities.
Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee visited and encouraged businesses participating in the fair.
After the opening ceremony of the fair, many tourists and locals came to visit the booths and shop. In addition, the trade connection activities between businesses and suppliers took place very actively, achieving many expected results.
However, due to the impact of the tropical depression strengthening into a storm, the rain and wind have greatly affected the booths. To ensure safety, many businesses, cooperatives and booths of the Trade, Investment and Tourism Promotion Centers/Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion Centers of the provinces have voluntarily ended the product display at the Festival Trade Fair 2024 ahead of schedule. The suspension of product display is a force majeure situation to ensure the safety of people and goods participating in the fair.
Previously, on the afternoon of September 18, Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province and members of the Organizing Committee met and encouraged businesses, production and business establishments and cooperatives participating in the Fair. At the same time, the Organizing Committee of the Fair was requested to consider the proposals and recommendations of businesses on the preservation of goods.
For some units that still want to stay because they have not prepared a plan to move goods back, the event organizer is required to continue to accompany, support, and create all conditions to ensure safety for the units.
