Walking around the city from around 5am every day, especially on weekends, the atmosphere of sports training to improve health is very exciting in public places. In addition to familiar sports such as football, running, walking attracting a lot of participants, some new sports such as cycling, yoga, aerobics are also gradually becoming popular.

The training location of the Green Thai Binh Cycling Club is Thai Binh Square and surrounding routes.

Love yourself by exercising every day

With its central location, October 14 Square is an interesting destination chosen by many people every morning. Regardless of weekdays or weekends, even rainy days, this place is always crowded with sports lovers coming to practice. Aerobics, yoga, soccer, shuttlecock, walking, or simply gentle physical exercises, everyone can find suitable exercises for themselves.

Nearly 80 years old, for more than 20 years now, Mr. Do Quang Chien (De Tham ward) has been exercising for about 1 hour every day at the Square with his friends. Walking, doing light exercise, breathing fresh air, watching people passing by when the streets are not too busy makes him feel more excited every new day.

Mr. Chien shared: Many people say I look younger than my age, I think it's because I exercise regularly every day, my blood circulation is good so I'm healthier. In particular, I had a period of time when I had a health problem so I paid more attention to exercise. This Square is very crowded, at nearly 5am there are people coming to exercise, chatting after each exercise, the feelings are friendly, open, the generation gap seems to no longer exist.

Several aerobic and yoga clubs have also chosen the Square as a regular practice location. While dozens of aerobic club members are enthusiastically following the music in one part of the Square, in another corner, yoga club members are slow and gentle with movements that deeply impact the body, helping practitioners to coordinate the mind and body in harmony, keeping emotions peaceful and the mind clear.

Ms. Truong Thi Hien (Le Hong Phong ward) said: Although waking up early is a bit awkward, especially on cold days, I always keep the habit of practicing yoga in the morning. Going to the Square to practice with the members of the Club helps me feel more refreshed and excited, and after practice, I can go to work more effectively.

Practicing and instructing members of her club, Ms. Chu Thi Hang, a yoga instructor, shared: I am very happy that the movement of physical exercise among people is currently being focused on and cared for. In fact, in life, everyone has stress, fatigue and needs to have time for themselves, to care for themselves to become healthier. Therefore, love yourself by practicing physical exercise every day.

Towards a green lifestyle

Although there are few cycling clubs operating in the city today, each club attracts a large number of members. Also starting at 5am every day, the Green Thai Binh Cycling Club with nearly 100 members chooses Thai Binh Square (Hoang Dieu Ward) and surrounding roads as the main training location. The spacious, airy space with lots of trees is a favorable condition for sports lovers to have more energy to practice effectively. Therefore, in the club, there are people over 70 years old who still regularly cycle 30-40km in 1 hour in the morning; on weekends, the distance traveled can be over 70km.

Mr. Tran Trung (Bo Xuyen ward) is one of the oldest members of the club. He shared: I have been retired for 12 years and have been cycling for 12 years, with almost no illness. Cycling in the morning is good for your health, and besides, meeting people with the same passion, chatting happily, and the joy at the beginning of the day makes me live with that joy all day long.

In the current Thai Binh Xanh Cycling Club, members are of all ages and occupations, including many women. Although the early morning hours are often busy with family chores and taking children to school, but realizing the benefits of cycling in the morning, the women not only practice to improve their health but also participate in cycling competitions held in many provinces and cities, and some members have won high awards, thereby encouraging other members to be more enthusiastic and committed to their passion.

Ms. Bui Thi Le Xuan (Hoang Dieu Ward) said: I have been participating in cycling for nearly 10 years, but since 2022 I have only participated in national open races, and have stood on the podium twice. For members preparing to participate in a major race, the Club will pay attention to providing exercises with increasing levels at least 1 month before the tournament begins.

To ensure each training session is safe and smooth, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ngoc, Head of the Thai Binh Xanh Cycling Club, shared: Normally, members will wake up before 5am, have about 15 minutes to warm up before starting the training. Before leaving the house, they must check if the wheels and tires are inflated enough to operate, in addition, the outfit must be neat, the hat and clothes must be neat, and meet the conditions for participating in traffic before starting to cycle.

According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the province, there are currently about 36% of people participating in regular sports training. Contributing significantly to that number are certainly people who are making effective use of public training locations every day. With the spirit of enthusiastic training, each person not only practically improves their own physical and mental health but also contributes to the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".
