Increased consumer demand not only boosts sales but also creates a vibrant market picture with many different retail models, from large enterprises to small stores, serving the diverse needs of the people.

Since the beginning of December, major supermarkets in the province have launched a series of attractive promotional programs, attracting the attention of a large number of customers. Supermarkets such as Go! Thanh Hoa, VinMart, Co.op Mart... not only focus on increasing revenue but also strive to bring customers convenient, economical and complete shopping experiences during Tet. Large discount programs are applied to essential consumer goods such as rice, cooking oil, spices, processed foods, confectionery and alcohol, not only helping to reduce people's spending burden but also creating a vibrant and bustling shopping atmosphere throughout the supermarket areas.

In the past two weeks, at Go!Thanh Hoa supermarket, Tet gift baskets have been the most consumed item with many different price segments to meet the diverse needs of customers. According to statistics at the supermarket, more than 5,000 Tet gift baskets have been sold, including through direct sales channels and online. To facilitate consumers in choosing products, the supermarket has expanded the display area of ​​Tet products in easily accessible areas, Tet booths at Go!Thanh Hoa are decorated eye-catchingly with colorful spring images. Here, Tet products such as gift baskets, wine, Chung cake, Tet cake, Tet jam and imported fruits are displayed beautifully, easily attracting the attention of customers. Each booth has a prominent promotional sign, helping consumers easily identify and choose discounted products. In addition to traditional sales channels, Go!Thanh Hoa also promotes sales activities through e-commerce platforms, providing more convenient options for customers through online shopping applications.

Similarly, Co.op Mart supermarket is no less exciting. The entire system has launched a big promotion program with more than 1,500 Tet products discounted by 50% or more; at the same time, organizing Tet markets with the same price, lasting until the 29th of Tet. Essential consumer products such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, spices, cakes, jams, sausages, nuts of all kinds and soft drinks are also heavily discounted, attracting a large number of customers during Tet. In particular, the supermarket also applies the program "Sale in pairs - Discount in pairs" for specific product combos, such as cooking oil and rice noodles combo, dishwashing liquid and kitchen cleaner combo, shower gel and makeup remover cotton, pillowcases and pillow inserts... For Tet version products such as cakes, candies, jams, nuts of all kinds, soft drinks, the discount is also very attractive, bringing customers the opportunity to shop economically during this year's Tet season.

Not only supermarkets and large convenience stores, traditional markets such as Vuon Hoa market and Dien Bien market also attract a large number of customers. At these markets, people can easily find fresh food products such as pork, chicken, banh chung, gio cha and delicious fresh fruits. In addition, specialty products and Tet jams are also sold at all the stalls. Ms. Hoang Thi Lanh, a fruit vendor at Dien Bien market, shared: “Tet season is always the busiest time of the year for us. Understanding the soaring demand for shopping and giving gifts, this year I have imported many types of high-quality imported fruits such as American apples and Australian grapes to meet the preferences and needs of customers.”

Along with the vibrant retail market, small shops and local production facilities also play an important role in meeting people's Tet shopping needs. Specialty products such as Thanh Hoa fermented pork rolls, Tu Tru sticky rice cakes or Thach Thanh wine are not only meaningful Tet gifts but also become symbols of unique cultural features, loved not only in the province but also in other provinces and abroad.

Ms. Do Thi Minh, owner of Tuyen Minh Nem Chua production facility in Dong Son ward, shared: "Every Tet holiday, our facility produces about 20,000 nem to serve the needs of customers not only in the province but also from distant provinces. This year, we noticed the special interest of consumers in gift sets, especially nem chua, so we decided to expand our products by packaging Tet gift sets. This not only helps customers choose easily but also meets the need for gift giving on this important holiday."

To ensure supply-demand balance and market stability from now until the Lunar New Year 2025, the Department of Industry and Trade will continue to closely coordinate with departments, branches and localities to closely monitor the market situation. The goal is to ensure adequate supply of essential goods to meet people's needs, avoiding shortages or price hikes, especially during the upcoming peak season. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen inspection and supervision at supermarkets, convenience stores and traditional markets, and coordinate with relevant agencies to ensure that goods are not only of good quality but also of clear origin, in order to protect consumer rights and maintain market stability.
