Not only do they simply list the names of cyanide trading groups, but they also include groups with similar names such as: transnational cyanide trading, groups trading “murder” chemicals, “jealousy fighting” chemicals, “extremely toxic” substances…

After selecting a group, users will contact the seller via Zalo to "close the order".

An account selling extremely toxic substances in this group posted on March 14 that the price of extremely toxic cyanide is 3.5 million VND/kg and 1.9 million VND/500g. Buyers can negotiate any quantity they want.

Cyanide is an extremely toxic substance but it is widely used in production. The law does not prohibit the trading and selling of cyanide in the market. However, serious murder cases involving cyanide that occurred recently show the need for strict and feasible management in the stages of import, circulation, distribution, storage, use and stricter pollution control.

Cyanide can cause serious harm to the environment and human health. The open and easy sale of these toxic substances online poses many risks to human health and social order and safety. Not to mention, the sale of these items online will cause difficulties for management.

According to current law, in cases where the seller does not have a business license or a license to restrict business in the industrial sector, the act of illegally selling toxic substances may constitute the crime of "Illegal trading of toxic substances" in Article 311 of the 2015 Penal Code, amended and supplemented in 2017.

In the case where the seller has sufficient relevant licenses to trade as prescribed, however, the buying and selling process is incorrect, the buyer has used the poison to commit murder, the consequences have occurred, the seller may be subject to criminal liability for "Crime of violating regulations on management of poisons" in Article 312, Penal Code 2015, amended and supplemented in 2017.

In addition, the trading of these substances must also comply with the provisions of the current Chemical Law. Violations will be strictly handled.
