Hanoi Department of Education announces the time to announce the third subject for the 10th grade entrance exam

This morning (February 6), a representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that at the end of March 2015, this unit will announce the third exam subject for grade 10.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training's high school entrance exam regulations, the 10th grade exam consists of 3 subjects: Math, Literature and a third subject; in which the third subject must change after 3 years. Currently, some provinces and cities have announced the third subject.

Regarding the plan to announce the third exam subject, this morning (February 6), speaking with VietNamNet, a representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that at the end of March 2015, this unit will announce the third exam subject for grade 10.

The Department also said that in order for secondary schools to facilitate teaching and learning; students to be proactive in learning and reviewing, since the end of August 2024, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has announced the format structure and sample questions for the subjects: Math; Literature, English, History and Geography, Natural Sciences, Informatics, Civic Education; and affirmed that this is the basis for building a question bank and making 10th grade exams according to the 2018 General Education Program.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training recommends that secondary schools direct professional teams to research and apply exam format structures suitable for each subject so that grade 9 students can become familiar with them; strengthen the construction of question banks and test matrices according to the requirements of the subject program; encourage the construction of digital libraries of test questions, surveys, and sharing with educational institutions in the area to exchange and support the effective implementation of testing and assessment methods and forms.

While waiting for the announcement of the third exam subject, Tran Phuong Linh - a 9th grade student in Bac Tu Liem district (Hanoi) said that she has made a detailed plan for Math and Literature. During the recent Lunar New Year, this student also spent time doing sample questions to get used to the question types, maintain a study routine, and prepare for the upcoming advanced exam.

Up to this point, many provinces and cities have announced the selection of a third subject in the 10th grade exam for the 2025-2026 school year. Provinces such as Binh Duong, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Bac Kan, Nghe An, Hue, Lam Dong... have all chosen English as the third subject.

Hanoi has an educational scale that accounts for 1/10 of the whole country. The number of 9th graders entering the 10th grade high school exam every year is also very large, with about more than 100,000 candidates taking the exam. Every year, Hanoi recruits more than 60% of junior high school graduates to enter 10th grade public high schools, so the exam plan and the 10th grade public high school exam always attract the attention of many parents, teachers and students.
