Nghe An's agricultural sector continues to achieve comprehensive victory in 2024, the breakthrough of OCOP products is a bright brushstroke in a colorful picture.

In 2024, Nghe An Department of Agriculture and Rural Development completed 24 assigned tasks, including 13 resolutions of the Provincial People's Council and 11 other tasks. The basic and key targets of the sector were all completed and exceeded the plan, such as the total agricultural, forestry and fishery product (GRDP) estimated at 43,123 billion VND, the growth rate was estimated at 4.14% over the same period last year. Accumulated to December 31, 2024, it is estimated to reach 327/411 communes, accounting for 79% of the total number of communes; 127/327 communes meeting advanced NTM standards, accounting for 39%...

In addition, it is necessary to mention the positive signals of the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program. It is expected that by the end of 2024, the whole province will have 739 products meeting 3-star standards or higher, thereby helping Nghe An firmly consolidate its 2nd position (after Hanoi) in terms of the number of recognized products.

Nghe An is very interested in and has high expectations for the One Commune One Product Program, considering it a lever to create a breakthrough in building new rural areas, while at the same time comprehensively improving the agricultural landscape of the locality. In addition to issuing and applying many support policies to stimulate demand, the province also directed the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and specialized agencies to focus on promoting and widely propagating to gradually strengthen the brand for typical products.

The Management Board of Nghe An Agricultural Market Forum has successfully completed the above tasks, proactively collecting and sharing information on key agricultural products during the year. Information on production, business, consumption units of agricultural products and product items is regularly updated, built into a database and posted directly on the website http://ampf.vn for sellers and buyers to conveniently grasp.

Through this channel, many agricultural businesses in and outside the province have contacted the Agricultural Market Forum to connect with partners, creating convenience in the process of searching and consuming goods sources. Notably, the connection between Minh Ngoc Corp (Ho Chi Minh City) and Huong Son Handicraft Cooperative (Ky Son) for Ky Son Ginger products; between Ameii Vietnam Joint Stock Company and Dien Phong Cooperative (Dien Chau) for hot chili products...

In 2024, the Management Board of the Agricultural Market Forum also organized for many units to participate in 8 supply-demand connection conferences, trade promotion fairs, promoting and introducing 32 booths with more than 200 typical agricultural products, specialties, and OCOP products. Typically, the OCOP product promotion fair associated with the culture of the Northern and Southern provinces, the Ornamental Plants Festival in Hanoi, the East-West Corridor International Fair in Da Nang, and trade promotion fairs in Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, etc.

Deserving the title of “bringing bells to strike the land of others”, in any playground, Nghe An OCOP products have won the sympathy of the majority, and are highly appreciated by customers for their quality, design, and image. As evidence, items such as cassava starch, turmeric starch, medicinal herbs, veal sausage, soy sauce, lotus, fish sauce, etc. have been signed by partners and brought into the system of supermarkets and stores nationwide.

In 2024, the Management Board of Nghe An Provincial Agricultural Market Forum also effectively coordinated with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica) to promote and introduce typical products such as golden flower tea, soup, eel vermicelli, Shan Tuyet tea, Ky Son ginger essential oil, Tuong Duong purple sticky rice wine, Dien Chau lotus peanuts, etc. at Japanese souvenir shops in Hanoi.
