According to the flight schedule, May 1 is the peak day of the holiday with 538 flights; of which, there are 303 domestic flights, 235 international flights with 94 thousand passengers (57 thousand domestic passengers and 37 thousand international passengers).

At Noi Bai International Airport, the two peak hours for domestic departures are from 6-7am and 4-5pm with more than 2,000 passengers/hour. Along with that, there are 16 peak hours for domestic arrivals spread out from 6-11pm on the same day, with more than 2,000 passengers/peak hour; of which, 5 time frames have more than 3,000 passengers/peak hour.

At Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the total number of flights expected on the peak day of May 1 is 740 flights, with an expected passenger volume of 125,000 passengers.

Today is also the last day that the two largest airports at the two ends of the country apply level one security measures to serve passengers traveling during the April 30 - May 1 holidays.

At this time, airports have implemented many solutions to ensure smooth travel conditions for passengers. At the same time, they have increased the application of information technology to effectively manage operations during peak periods; applying the collaborative decision-making model (A-CDM) helps to effectively and smoothly manage flight operations, and improve on-time performance.

In addition, airports have increased coordination with functional forces to regulate, guide, and separate traffic lanes... Some ports have successfully tested non-stop automatic toll lanes to help vehicles with ETC cards quickly exit, bringing convenience to passengers and minimizing local congestion during peak hours.

For passengers, airports should note to carefully check personal documents, prepare luggage according to regulations, receive the correct luggage, and carefully check personal belongings before leaving the airport to avoid forgetting, losing, or taking the wrong item.

On the railway side, a representative of Vietnam Railways Corporation also said that the peak number of passengers during this holiday is concentrated on April 30 and May 1 on the return journey. It is expected that the number of passengers at major stations such as Hanoi, Da Nang, and Saigon will increase 2-3 times compared to normal days.

To ensure good service for passengers' travel needs, the railway industry has proactively increased human resources to serve at major stations.

Vietnam Railways Corporation also requires units in the entire industry to strictly maintain discipline on train safety; review and promptly implement measures to ensure traffic safety at road-railway intersections; organize security to ensure traffic safety at intersections with high risk of accidents. In particular, strengthen inspection and supervision via cameras and phones installed at direct production locations to detect and prevent violations and incidents due to both subjective and objective factors.

Previously, in addition to the regular train pairs running on the Hanoi - Saigon route, the railway industry has increased the number of trains running by 36 in the northern region from Hanoi to Hai Phong, Vinh, Quang Binh, Da Nang and 35 trains from Saigon station to Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Quang Ngai and vice versa during the April 30 - May 1 holiday.
