According to Android Authority , Samsung's current Galaxy S24 lineup promises an impressive seven years of security OS updates, matching Google's commitment to the Pixel 8 lineup. However, the Korean company's latest efforts will extend that support period, at least for those who own the enterprise versions of its latest Galaxy tablets.

Confirmed by Samsung Benelux representative Andy Rottiers on LinkedIn, the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Enterprise Edition tablet will receive 8 years of updates. An image uploaded by Rottiers confirms the commitment to provide 8 OS updates to the device. That means the Samsung tablet will theoretically receive Android 22.
The policy is seen as a major improvement over the Korean company's original update commitment for its business tablets, which Samsung initially said would get four years of OS updates and five years of security updates for the standard version.
The Galaxy Tab Active 5 is an interesting tablet in both the business and standard versions. It comes with mid-range specs like the Exynos 1380 chip, an 8.8-inch 120Hz TFT display, and other notable features like a removable battery, a 3.5mm audio port, microSD card support, replaceable hardware buttons, and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
