The 2024 - 2029 term member congress of Saigon Co.op has just taken place, with the participation of 29 delegates who are members of the board of directors, the board of supervisors for the 2019 - 2024 term and representatives of 24 member cooperatives .
The congress was attended by Mr. Bui Ta Hoang Vu, member of the City Party Committee, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, along with representatives of departments, branches, and the City Cooperative Union. In addition, leaders of Saigon Co.op through the periods, including Ms. Nguyen Thi Nghia - former Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Saigon Co.op - also attended.
On the Saigon Co.op leadership side, there were Mr. Vu Anh Khoa - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Ms. Diep Hong Di, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors; Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors, General Director and members of the Standing Committee, Board of Directors, Directors of several joint departments.
The 2024-2029 term member congress of Saigon Co.op has ended successfully, opening a new development period with expectations of overcoming challenges, affirming Saigon Co.op's pioneering role in the retail and collective economy sectors, contributing to promoting the sustainable development of Vietnam's retail industry .

Within the framework of the congress, delegates summarized production and business activities for the 2019-2024 term, assessed the financial situation, management and use of funds, as well as reported on the activities of the board of directors, the board of supervisors and member cooperatives.
The Congress took place in a democratic and responsible atmosphere, demonstrating a high spirit of solidarity and unity in discussing and approving development orientations for the new term.
Speaking at the congress, Mr. Bui Ta Hoang Vu acknowledged Saigon Co.op's continuous efforts in maintaining its position as the leading retailer in Vietnam, while actively contributing to socio-economic development and enhancing the value of Vietnamese goods in the international market.
In recent years, Saigon Co.op has continuously improved its business operation model, enhanced its core competitiveness and recognized its steadfastness in maintaining and promoting the good nature of the cooperative and collective economic model.
For the period 2024 - 2029, Mr. Bui Ta Hoang Vu entrusted Saigon Co.op to continue to maintain its cooperative nature, collective economy and position as the leading consumer goods retailer in Vietnam.
Along with that, the unit needs to continue researching organizational restructuring and developing a sustainable cooperative model, affirming its pioneering role domestically and internationally, striving to be in the group of 300 largest cooperatives globally by 2045.
"Saigon Co.op needs to pioneer in capturing innovation trends in the global retail industry, considering this a core driving force for sustainable development," Mr. Vu emphasized.
The congress unanimously elected the Board of Directors for the 2024 - 2029 term with 7 personnel, including: Mr. Vu Anh Khoa, Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc, Ms. Diep Hong Di, Mr. Le Truong Son, Mr. Pham Trung Kien, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Mr. Ho Ngoc Hoang Dung.
The Board of Supervisors for the 2024-2029 term was elected with three members, including: Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung - Head of the Board of Supervisors, Mr. Bui Dai Thang, Mr. Tran Bui Thanh. Mr. Vu Anh Khoa was highly trusted by the congress and re-elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
The 2024 - 2029 term member congress was a great success, setting out goals, mottos, targets, tasks and solutions with many expectations to overcome difficulties and challenges, opening a new development stage of Saigon Co.op.
