According to data from the Department of Conservation and International Cooperation - Con Dao National Park, since the beginning of the year, 226 sea turtles have successfully laid eggs on sandy beaches.
Tourists release baby turtles into the sea at Con Dao National Park (in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province). Con Dao sea area is currently home to 4 species of sea turtles: Green turtle; Hawksbill turtle; Green turtle; and Loggerhead turtle.
Forest rangers have attached tags to monitor the egg-laying cycle during the breeding season to 56 mother turtles and released 7,224 baby turtles into the sea under control.
Con Dao sea area is currently home to 4 species of sea turtles: Green turtle (Chelonia mydas), Hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata), Green turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) and Loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta). Of these, the Green turtle population in Con Dao is the largest.
According to statistics from Con Dao National Park, each year about 450 mother turtles come to the nesting grounds and more than 150,000 baby turtles are released into the sea.
Con Dao currently has 18 sandbanks recorded as turtle nesting grounds, of which 5 are regular turtle nesting areas: Bai Cat Lon - Hon Bay Canh, Bai Duong - Hon Bay Canh, Hon Cau, Hon Tai and Hon Tre Lon...
