On August 19, the Green Future Fund - Vingroup Corporation, announced 10 key action programs nationwide, aiming to contribute to promoting net emissions in Vietnam to zero by 2050.
The Green Future Fund was established on July 7, 2023 with the mission of contributing to the Government's zero-emission target by 2050; promoting green journeys in daily life, raising community awareness; urging individuals to act today for a green tomorrow for future generations.
The Green Future Fund will also officially present a logo to donate 30,000 trees to plant forests in Can Gio District.
To realize the above mission, the fund will deploy 10 key action programs nationwide, focusing on 10 essential areas of life, including: Green Mobility, Green Energy, Green Office, Green Consumption, Green Environment, Green Urban Gardens, Green Tourism, Green Education, Green Healthcare and Green Sports.
10 key programs will be first implemented in Ho Chi Minh City and then gradually expanded to other provinces and cities across the country.
Saigon Xanh volunteer group and For Green Future Fund cleaned up 20 tons of trash in Cau Son alley, Binh Thanh District.
Also within the framework of the event, the Green Future Fund signed a Cooperation Agreement and launched the action program "For a Green Vietnam" with the Center for Natural Resources and Environment Communication (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) and Green Journey Social Enterprise Joint Stock Company to focus on improving the quality of life for people and promoting green activities in the economy, culture - society and protecting the natural environment for future generations; at the same time, actively spreading green lifestyles in the community, joining hands to bring net emissions to 0 by 2050.
In addition to joining hands with provinces and ministries, the Green Future Fund also proactively implements action programs in each locality. Specifically, in Ho Chi Minh City, the fund commits to sponsor the planting of 30,000 forest trees in Can Gio, equivalent to 6 billion VND.
Nationwide, many green actions of the fund have also brought practical results after only 1 month of launching. VinBus Company contributed to reducing more than 23 million kg of CO2 emitted into the environment with a transport distance of nearly 26 million km, equivalent to planting more than 1 million trees . The online race "Education for a green future" organized by the fund and LightenUp attracted nearly 1,000 teachers to participate, bringing in funds to support the installation of clean water and repair of toilets for 6 schools. In particular, the fund has collected nearly 4 billion VND from the support of 500,000 customers using products and services of VinFast Company and Xanh SM for environmental activities.
