Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 2507 dated April 23, 2024 of the Standing Committee of Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee on agreeing on the policy of hosting the UN Tourism International Conference on Rural Tourism, the Provincial People's Committee agreed to organize the conference and award ceremony of the Best Tourist Village in 2024 of UN Tourism in Vietnam with the theme "Developing rural tourism in a sustainable and inclusive direction" as the draft conference organization project of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Previously, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to closely coordinate with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and relevant agencies, units and localities to develop a project related to this issue to submit to competent authorities for approval and implementation to achieve the set goals.
The Provincial People's Committee also issued an official dispatch assigning the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to review and compile statistics on rural tourism spots/areas/villages in the province; advise, report and propose to the Provincial People's Committee to promote, develop and exploit the potential of rural tourism in the coming time.
